DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, October 2007 - Reggae connoisseur Mick sleeper goes deep in the 6th episode of his excellent podcast series. Stricktly DUB from the top to the very last drop!
Contemporary electronic (dance) music could never have been there if it were not for the fact that the Jamaicans invented and developed the art of remixing music back in the 1960's.
The legend is, that King Tubby was doing a sound check with just the bass and drums running, and the echo machine went wild because of some error. The sound that came out of it was immodestly recognized as something to work on.
The rest, needles to say, is history.
Instrumental versions became true works of art during the 1970's when King Tubby and others cultivated their skills on the mixing board, releasing one DUB after the other.
DUB has now become a true form of art, a discipline of music in itself. The producers and engineers are considered to be artists just as much as the musicians who play the music into the multitrack recorder.
An excellent selection of crucial DUBS can be heard in this episode of Sleeper's Record Shack. We'll hear a number of engineers, as they DUB the riddims on the mixing boards.
Enjoy a Dubwise Experience Extra-Ordinary!
