WWW, June 2009 - In the one-before-the-last episode of the Dread At The Controls Podcast, Mikey Dread takes us to the Jamaican DJ's of the 1970's, and explains all about the culture that brought us the Sound Systems and Dub Plates and all the rest.

He was the first Jamaican Reggae Radio Show host, in that time also known as the DJ. However, within Reggae, a DJ is more than that. What others called a DJ, was called a Selector in Jamaica.

Even though such concepts are more know to the global music scene than it was in the 1970's, the Culture that comes with Reggae needs explanation still and who can do it better than Mikey Dread? In this podcast, which he made before he passed away but was just recently released on the Internet, he tells us all about it, and plays the music too!
