A Spiritual Look on Reggae Music - A Meditation by Messian Dread

SPIRITUAL LOOK ON REGGAE MUSIC

A MEDITATION BY MESSIAN DREAD

WWW, September 2007 - The Rhythm of Reggae is more or less the heartbeat of my soul. I eat, drink and breath Reggae Music while giving thanks and praises to the Creator for JAH Music every time I do so.

Some people think that I'm doing the wrong thing, there. I beg to differ, Sir!

Without any apology, I can say that the Most High Jah used Reggae Music to call me to Him and become His son through the fulfilled Works of Yesus Kristos.

Even though I'm the son of a preacher man, even though my mother separated me for Jah before I was born, even though I grew up in the Pentecostal Church and heard the Bible from a very young age, that is.

The message that I got as a young child, was that there was a "God" and he was called "Jesus Christ". This "God" created a "Judeo-Christian Civilization" and demanded total obedience to that "Civilization": a Church-And-State System that can be traced back to the Tower of Babel somewhere in the Middle East.

It didn't matter whether I was in school or at the church, I would hear the same message. I would be surrounded by the same kind of children, even though they themselves would not think so. And they too would tell me the exact same message.

To me, the message was clear: OBEY and KONFORM to this World System!

OBEY and KONFORM to this World System, even when you are unable to.

OBEY and KONFORM to this World System, even though it is not explained to you why.

OBEY and KONFORM to this World System, even though you know for sure that you are told lies and are being downpressed.

OBEY and KONFORM to this World System, or... face the Consequences!

In my case, I was unable to OBEY and KONFORM, even when I wanted to. I just wasn't born that way, and obviously this had something to do with the fact that my mother separated me for Jah before I was born.

So I had to face the consequences. I was unable to bow down for the God of This World Order that they called Jesus Christ and I would feel it bigtime. In my ignorance I turned to what I thought was the enemy of that god, a guy called Satan.

I was unable to see, that the "Jesus Christ" who is the god of this World Order, isn't the Divine Saviour at all! I was unable to see, that the god of this World Order was really Satan and my rebellion only brought me into a form of slavery that was even worse: demonic possession.

All of this started when I was really young, like 4 years old or even earlier than that. While the demons that possessed me "taught" me their lies and gave me their "gifts", while the System and their workers would traumatize me with a wide variety of methods, I developed a strong hate against what I thought was "God".

I was traumatized so much by the propaganda and abuse, that I couldn't stand the Bible, or even the word "Jesus". I hated the one who was responsible for creating such a system and I thought his name was "Jesus Christ".

Until JAH revealed Himself to me and everything began to make so much sense.

It started, when I heard Reggae Music for the first time. I was about 15, 16 years old and I was visiting a place. Someone played a track called "Five Nights of Bleeding", by UK based DUB Poet Linton Kwesie Johnson.

The deep rhythm of the drum and bass was so familiar to me, it was like a reunion with a long lost friend. It was the heart beat of the heart with which I knew myself to be created.

I didn't understand much of the lyrics, but I knew I found the music that I was created for. Or at least, this was how this seemed and still seems to me. The music was not created for me, but I was created for the music. The music was the same thing that kept me alive, I simply knew that.

Little by little, I began to understand the lyrics of much of the music. Linton Kwesie Johnson himself is an atheist, but there is a lot of Reggae Music that has words about the Creator, and even words from the Creator as many tunes are almost complete Bible Lyrics on a heavy drum and bassline.

I began to hear the call of JAH RASTAFARI. I found out, that JAH RASTAFARI was the CREATOR, and that HE was very much opposed to the World System. In fact, the World System is an opposition to the Creator!

The message of the Movement of Rastafari became known through Reggae Music and if there is one thing that everyone must overstand about that Movement in my opinion, it must be that Rastafari clearly identifies the god of this world order as a false Christ.

Rastafari identifies this so-called "Judeo-Christian Civilization" as nothing else but Mystery Babylon, the evil Queendom of Lucifer.

Within Reggae Music, obviously there is a lot of Babylon too. Of course! But it cannot be denied that because of the fact that the Movement of Rastafari has been so influential to Reggae Music, it is completely accepted to sing praises to the Creator wherever you go within Reggae Music.

It goes even further. Even artists who are know to sing usually about sexual themes, slackness, will have at least a few songs in their repertoire which will give praise to the Creator.

I personally know artists who boldly say in my face that they don't believe a single word about JAH and Babylon and so on, but that they will use the words just because it sounds so nice in Reggae Music.

What is that music, which will even make the atheists sing praises to JAH?

Personally, I see in this some kind of pre-fulfillment of the fact that one day Every Knee Will Bow and Every Tongue Confess.

Personally, I see in this some kind of sign that Reggae Music indeed is JAH Music, even though there are pirates and parasites who try to run away with the music and make themselves some name or thing and become millionaires...

Reggae Music has been used by the Almighty, to set me free. The power of the drum and bass, and the Name of JAH Rastafari with which the Creator introduced Himself to me, I am connected with this in my body soul and spirit and I cannot explain it in any other way than that I was -among other things of course- created to play Reggae Music.

This is why I love Reggae Music. This is why I cannot stop loving Reggae Music. For Reggae Music is my heartbeat and if I would stop loving my heartbeat I would not longer live.

I have seen many people become conscious just by listening to Reggae Music. I see them being introduced to the truth about Babylon, about JAH, through the Music. Which is another reason why I can't -and won't- stop loving Reggae Music.

And playing it. And promoting it!

But there are also people who don't love Reggae Music at all.

Without being bothered by any knowledge about Rastafari or Reggae Music, they will follow the party line and look to Rastafari as a form of Jamaican Hippie-ness and Reggae as some kind of Satanic Music just like Heavy Metal.

Self-proclaimed "pastors" like Christafari's Mark Mohr make a good living from that party line, even. From their base close to Hollywood California, they claim all kinds of things about Reggae Music which will make people buy their own form of "sanctified Reggae", the only form of Reggae allowed for "Christian Consumption".

It is a well-known fact that the CIA was very, very interested in Bob Marley and in Reggae Music in general as they feared how these Sounds of Freedom would be ringing in the ears of too many sufferers.

There are many more antichrist movements and ideology who will oppose Reggae Music in someway. The homosexual militants, for example, who don't want any critique on their not-so-gay homosexual lifestyle, are well-known to hate Reggae Music and will lobby against every Reggae Artist who dares to speak out against homosexuality.

Yes, the Party-Line of the Illuminati, the Party-Line of Babylon System, is very much against Reggae Music. When you ask them why, they will tell you exactly about the "dangers" of Reggae Music.

But I don't see any danger in these "dangers" at all!

I see no danger in Consciousness at all! I see no danger in the heavy drum and basslines at all, especially not because I know Who created me and I know I am -partly- created to play Reggae Music!

Messian Dread

JAH Is My Bible (A Meditation)

JAH IS MY BIBLE!

A MEDITATION BY MESSIAN DREAD

WWW, September 2007 - When Jah says that mankind has changed worship of Creator into worship of creation, did He also refer to the "bible-believing" Christians?

In the first verse of the Gospel according to John we can read: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with JAH, and the Word was JAH". Reading on just a little bit more will reveal without the shadow of a doubt, that John refers to Yesus Kristos when he speaks about the "Word of Jah".

It's a deep, profound teaching that John gives there. A teaching of which the implications unfortunately have gone lost to a large portion within what is generally kown as "Christianity" For they will identify the Word of Jah as... The Bible!

People can debate without end about topics, putting scripture against scripture in attempts to "convince" their opponents. People will "expose" "false teachings" just by quoting a few Bible scriptures. People will even study the Bible in order to get themselves some name and fame and power over others!

Never mind the fact, that there is no original manuscript left. Never mind the fact, that the (per)versions contradict each other and themselves. Never mind the fact, that the canon itself isn't even mentioned in the Bible and nobody can really explain just why "the Bible" is "right".

People who criticize "Christianity" will often refer to the fact that with a little bit of intelligence, you can make the Bible say just about anything you want the Bible to say. And it's true, especially when you realize that there are countless of (per)versions that will help everyone to read what they want to read.

But even if we would have the original scrolls, it would not better. The apostle Petrus wrote, that people were twisting the writings of Paulus as well as the other scriptures, and he was referring to the original manuscripts there.

We are give a wonderful example within this very same scripture. We all know about the Pharisees, how they knew their Bibles inside-out and how they loved to use that knowledge to get power over other people. How they even fooled themselves!

When Yesus faced the Pharisees, he told them: "You study the scriptures because you think there is eternal life in there, and you don't recognize Me and don't want to come to Me" (John 5:38 ).

We see this very same mentality within what is commonly known as Christianity. It can be recognized in the phrase: "The Word Of God says...", followed by some quote. A quote from a (per)version, that is. For the original manuscripts are lost.

We see, how many try to put Jah in a book, subsequently study that book, and somehow think that this the key to eternal life, the key to God, yes... God!

We see, that when John writes how the Word is Jah and became flesh, many will de facto believe that this is about the Bible rather than about Yesus Kristos Himself.

Now, why is that?

Why do people need a book, even if it is a translation or (per)version of a manuscript, of which the originals have long been lost? Why do people... need something in this creation and treat it as if this is God Himself?

Indeed.

Asking the question, is answering it.

Oh yes, we all know about the critique from the "bible-believing Christians" about the believe of many of my Rasta brothers and sisters that the Ethiopian Emperor is JAH. But they themselves believe in a book and call it the Word of Jah, Which we know is JAH Himself!

So why do people need that book? Why do people use that book as their Gateway to God? Yes: as God?

Obviously, it has everything to do that we are -in our natural state- unable to reach Jah. Since the fall, we are cut from direct contact with our Creator and all we had left was our place within Creation.

Still, the Creator maintains His Creation. He reveals Himself through Creation too. Jah even steps in His Creation and shows Himself to us many times.

He does so, through the Bible and through the Ethiopian emperor. He does so, by revealing Himself all over creation!

In the last verse of the gospel according to John, the apostle states that Yesus did so many things that if they would all have to be described, the world itself could not contain the books.

So we know, yes, the Creator has really done a lot of things to reveal Himself. But as soon as Jah reveals Himself, a particular law of nature comes into action.

It is the law of decay, that came into place when Adam and Eve ate from the fruit and became initiated in the mystery of iniquity. It is the law that dictates, how nothing in this creation is eternal. How nothing in this creation can last forever. How nothing in this creation is perfect.

It is, if you will: the law of sin.

It is, if you will: to have the knowledge of good and evil, which means nothing else than to have only a partial knowledge of good rather to have something on top of "knowledge of good". (SEE: "TO KNOW GOOD AND EVIL")

Our partial (dis)ability to "see good", which obviously means nothing else but to "see JAH", requires us to initially be confronted with some thing in creation which will refer us to the Creator Himself, Yesus Kristos!

We need something in this creation to show us The Way.

We need a witness.

We need a tangible witness.

We need a tangible witness in this creation in order to find the Way to the Creator. And as a matter of fact, we have a multitude of witnesses around us. From the Bible to the Ethiopian Emperor, from Spirit People to -in fact- the whole of Creation itself.

And this is exactly where many, many people stop. They hear the voice of the Creator clearly through the mouths of His many witnesses. Tangible, audible, visible, you name it. There is no speech or language where His voice is not heard!

Creation itself is a witness. Creation itself is a messenger.

But in some sick variation on the theme, many people are tricked and believe that the messenger is in fact the sender. Many people are tricked into believing, how creation is in fact the Creator.

The mere fact that we need something in this creation to point us out to the Creator, has been transformed by the forces of evil into the very worship of that creation itself!

Our partial disability to see Jah, to "know good", makes us worship that which we do see as if it is JAH!

It makes us worship creation rather than the Creator, even if that creation itself is conscious witness of the Creator and points out to the fact that it is only a witness.

For example: The Bible.

For example: The Ethiopian Emperor

But none of these witnesses are perfect, none of these witnesses in themselves are able to bring us in contact with the Creator.

None of these witnesses ARE Jah!

They can only... show us the Way!

So, then, what is that Way?

Obviously, here we have another question which has the Answer contained in itself. Obviously, there can not be a Way to the Creator if this Way is not the Creator Himself.

Obviously, that Way is Yesus Kristos, JAH manifested in the Flesh.

HE is perfect. HE is without sin. Whether you know it or not, Yesus Kristos is (the Way to) JAH. Whether you know it or not, you can only be in contact with your Creator though (the Door, that Door Which is) the Creator Himself!

Let us therefore know, that we live in a fallen creation. We need a witness, Jah uses witness to speak through, but a witness is a witness.

The Bible is such a witness. It's an imperfect witness, and can also be used to teach false doctrines. It can be used, to manipulate people and is used by Babylon System as the ultimate propaganda tool in what is called the "Judeo-Christian Civilization".

The Bible points out to Yesus Kristos, quite specific. The Bible says of itself, that there is no eternal life in it. The Bible witnesses of itself, that it contains only a description of an aspect of what Yesus Kristos really is doing.

It's not the Bible, that teaches me anything. It's not the Bible, that saved me. It's not the Bible that dictates what is true or not. This is all reserved for the Word of God Himself, and:

The Bible... is not the Word of God!

Yesus Kristos is the Word Of God!

This simple truth opens up the whole Bible, all of a sudden.

When you read stuff like: "Your Word Is A Lamp For My Foot", this really means "Yesus Is The Light".

When you read stuff like: "The Word Of God Is A Two-Edged Sword", and "The Sword Of The Spirit Is The Word Of God", this really means that "Yesus is a two-edged Sword", that "Yesus is the Sword of the Spirit".

Yes, some people really claim that the Sword of the Spirit is the bible. They claim that the Bible is a two-edged sword and a light for our foot. They really think that the devil is afraid for a few Bible Scriptures and that reading the Bible will give us eternal life.

Therefore, when you would use the words "Word of God" and "Bible" interchangeably, I would say that my Bible is JAH.

It is JAH, Who teaches me. He teaches me through the Bible, through creation, through revelation and experience. It is JAH, Yesus Kristos, Who is my Weapon. It is JAH, Yesus Kristos, Who is the Lamp for my foot. It is JAH, Yesus Kristos, Whose teachings are written in my heart.

Sela.

"PROMOTING CONSCIOUSNESS" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 29 2007 - Say "Consciousness" and you will immediately start an endless and equally useless debate about everything from politricks to re-lie-gion.
Consciousness implies a certain state. Usually, we would call it "to be awake" or "a state of awareness".

Say "Promote Consciousness", and you will say something different. For "to promote" Consciousness has everything to do with ringing the alarm wherever this is needed rather than experiencing a certain thing.

Conscious people don't have to be told anything. They will find out things for themselves, they will be active with their gifts and talents.

THE AMAZING HEPTONES - WE ARE IN THE MOOD
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, September 2007 - In an hour we are introduced to the works of one of Reggae's strongest Harmony Vocal Groups: The Heptones.

According to the selector of this magnificent introduction, the group started somewhere in 1965 as the "Hep Ones". He starts of with their first release, a track called "Gunmen Coming To Town" released by Studio One.

The rest is history.

Like most Harmony Groups, the Heptones have a central figurehead. In their case, this is Leroy Sibbles. Not only is he the lead singer, he is also the reason why the Heptones have recorded so much for Studio One.

Leroy played many, many, many basslines at Studio One. This means, that he is responsible for creating too many legendary riddims to mention, as Studio One riddims are re-done until this very day.

The Heptones themselves made quite a name in Reggae History too. "We Are In The Mood" presents their work in 20 titles, some DUBS and even a great -and rare- DJ version by I Roy.

There's a little pause between the tracks, enabling you to create your own CD from the MP3 File. A Labour of Love!

"BORN FREE" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 28 2007 - Consciousness shows us how that "Babylon" where you hear so many Reggae lyrics about, is far more than just an ancient place somewhere in the Middle-East, as some claim.

Babylon is the system that keeps people in prison, slaves to the Queendom of Lucifer. And although we are born free, it's that very system which enslaves us right from birth or even before that.

Today's edition of Dubroom Online is all about being Born Free. A great podcast with the title, and the story of someone who lived to tell some heavyweight abuse by Babylon System just because he wanted to be as free as His Creator wanted him to be.

Zeph E Daniel, Survivor (In-Depth Radio Interview)

ZEPH E DANIEL, SURVIVOR
A BABYLON OBSERVER RADIO REVIEW

WWW, September 2007 - In a very open and heartfelt interview, Zeph E Daniel tells about his life as the survivor of (elite) Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) and exposes the mechanisms that keep Babylon system running.

Zeph E Daniel was born into an elite family in Los Angeles, somewhere in the 1950's. His family included members of the Bohemian Club. Zeph grew up around famous people, children around him were destined to become the movers and shakers in a large portion of (American) society.

However, in order to become "one of them", become part of the system, you have to go through a certain kind of programming. Even further: you have to have a certain kind of mind-set. A mind-set that includes the practice of Satanic Rituals, which are just to bloody perverse to mention.

What happens if you are born in such a family, but you are simply unwilling to go along with the system? Even unable?

The answer can be found by listening to Zeph E Daniel's life story. It is the story of a survivor, who lived to tell about the very mechanisms that keep Babylon System running.

He had to face imprisonment, torture, rape, mind control, survived a coma and other attempts at his life. Until this very day, he has to deal with the fruits of the evil that was done to him.

In a very open and profound interview with the host of the "Nowhere To Run" Radio Show on the American Revere Radio Network, it becomes clear that it is quite remarkable Zeph E Daniel even lived to tell.

Babylon System works on the blood of the sufferers. No, it's not just horny pedophiles. There's a complete mechanism behind it, a technical reason and working method. Satanic Rituals have exactly the same reason and purpose. what happens at places like Bohemian Grove, is nothing but a "power plant" to maintain the system.

The interview is revealing, as it exposes the true nature of what many of us just know as "the elite". The "movers and shakers" turn out to be nothing but slaves themselves, slaves to supernatural entities we know as demons, aliens, fallen angels.

Obviously, the connection with these supernatural entities include UFO's. After all, Babylon's ultimate goal is to create a "New World Order": a re-enactment of the "Days of Noah" or "Atlantis".

A must-listen for everyone who is even remotely interested in the mechanisms behind Babylon System!

EASY STAR ALL STARS - NOWHERE TO RUN
Dubroom (DUB) Reggae Video Review

WWW, September 2007 - Taken from the album "Dub Side Of The Moon" which was a Reggae Remake of a Pink Floyd Album, this track brings us into yet another realm of DUB.

Since Reggae Music is a rhythm rather than a style, it is possible to play "every" musical work in a Reggae Style. To re-make a complete album by a famous old-time non-Reggae band therefore is an interesting, yet not remarkable project.

It's just a piece of niceness, you could say...

But this project is more than that still.

The Easy Star All-Stars did their best to explore deeper realms of Dub, to approach the whole concept in an original way. This tune, for example, isn't Reggae at all. It's an example of their exploration as they incorporate programmed Jungle Beats, ambient synthesizer soundscapes and more.

"A REGGAE BIBLE READ" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 27 2007 - Within Reggae Music, it is not uncommon to be treated to a number of Bible verses, or sometimes even complete Psalms.

Sure, sometimes these verse will be quoted by people who don't really believe what's written in there. And often, the verses will be heard by people who don't really believe what's written in there either.

Therefore, the debate continues and will continue to continue...

Fact is, that when the Bible is read over some crucial drum and basslines, the scriptures begin to become more clear as they are written outside the buildings called "church".

DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, September 2007 - Smiley Culture's "Cockney Translation" is just one out of five great examples of the UK's answer to Jamaican Rub a Dub in the 1980's.

When U-Roy started to chant over the instrumental versions played by King Tubby's Hi-Fi Sound System, many different styles were born.

Throughout the 1970's, the DJ's chanted over the drum and basslines of dubbed out Reggae tracks. In the 1980's, Jamaica developed Rub a Dub music, with a strong DJ presence.

In the UK, a similar development was going on. Saxon Sound System gave birth to a brand new genre when their MC's began to toast at warp-speed: the "Fast Chatters" came to take over and ruled the UK charts with classics like Smiley Culture's Cockney Translation.

WWW, September 2007 - Discogroup Boney M made this psalm very popular when they scored a hit with their cover version of the Melodians track.

In this video-clip, we'll see Richie Roots as he performs the track again in a style that could be described as a modern version of Nyabinghy and Roots Reggae.

The music is slow and spiritual, the sights are professionally without losing eye for the spiritual aspects.

After all, the words come straight out of the bible and can be applied one-on-one to the story of the African people who were stolen from their homeland in order to work as slaves to build the great cities of Babylon.

WWW, September 26 2007 - In some circles, it is a must to have at least a couple of tracks with the melodica in it. The Dubroom has released tracks with the instruments, and a file for producers containing samples of a real melodica.
It all has to do with the Far East Sound, Augustus Pablo's legacy. He originated, and countless imitated.

Augustus Pablo is also said to have been influential for what is now known as the UK Roots Sound: heavy Steppers rhythms, Dub, and Consciousness.

In fact, there is one track that is said to have done it, a track which we have reviewed for today's episode of Dubroom Online.

DELROY WILLIAMS - THINK TWICE
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

Delroy Williams - Think Twice (Augustus Pablo Productions, 1982)

This extended mix is said to have been influential in what is known as the UK Roots sound. And indeed, describing the track is describing the sound as well: Militant steppers, lots of DUBwise, conscious lyrics.

"HOW CAN IT BE?" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 25 2007 - Take into consideration, that Jamaica is an island. Take into consideration, that this island is not on the list of richest countries in the world.

Take into consideration, that the richest countries usually decide for the rest of the world what to hear, what to believe, what to like and what not to like.

And fair enough, there's "Reggae Millionaires" but not much. And right from the start, the music attracts pure hearts and worshippers of Jah throughout the whole planet.

How can it be, the Reggae Music got so popular still?

HOUSE OF REGGAE #7
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, September 2007 - Starting with a musical reasoning by Tony Rebel, the seventh episode of Ian's House of Reggae takes us straight to the heart of Reggae in another hour of Reggae-Iducation.

Ian's House of Reggae definitely adds something to the growing number of good broadcasters in the Podosphere. He does his research, like to add information and sometimes center his shows around a certain theme.

In this beginning of this episode, our host looks into the more spiritual side of Reggae Music. Tony Rebel shares a reasoning, Johnny Clarke sings truths and rights while Owen Gray performs an old classic spiritual.

He also looks back into the 1950's in an honoring of Jamaica mento legend Alerth Bedasse as he plays what was then deemed a very hostile tune by the Jamaican parliament.

Among many other tunes and descriptions, that is...

BROADCASTER'S COMMENTS:The House of Reggae welcomes you back for another 60 minutes of fine Jamaican music and in this show we start off with some thought provoking reasoning from Tony Rebel and also include another rare white label 7", a tribute to Jamaican mento legend Alerth Bedasse who passed away last month and more great tunes spanning the last 50 years than you can shake a stick (or should that be a rod) at......

U ROY AND SOUL SYNDICATE LIVE IN USA 1988
Dubroom (DUB) Reggae Video Review

WWW, September 2007 - The year is 1988 and the Godfather of Reggae DJ-ing U Roy teams up with one of the original Rockers Studio Bands of Jamaica to play a wonderful performance of their music before an audience

Because of Reggae Culture's nature, "any" vocalist can play with "any" band, at least when they know how to play or ride a riddim, as tracks are called in this Culture. So it's not unusual to see "unusual" combinations, such as U Roy and the Soul Syndicate.

Originally, the music played by the Soul Syndicate was recorded into the multitrack recorders of a Jamaican Reggae Studio. U Roy's voice usually was heard either on record or on top of a record in a live performance of King Tubby's Hi-Fi Sound system.

The year is 1988, and both U Roy as well as the band are already veterans in Reggae Music. Crucial stuff, therefore. Enjoy!

"PUNKY REGGAE PARTY" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 24 2007 - Because of the colonial ties between the UK and Jamaica, there has always been a strong Reggae Culture on the island before the European Continent.

Because of the strong anti-Babylon vibe in much conscious Reggae Music and in the Punk Movement of the 1970's, it was no surprise to see how the downpressed of Jamaica and the UK would join hands together and celebrate the fact that Babylon is bound to fall.

The items we reviewed for today deals directly with the Punky Reggae Party and the development of Roots Reggae Music in the UK.

WWW, September 2007 - Five crucial tracks from 1978-1982, selected by the Jamaica HiFi crew, Showcase Style!

When the maxi-single or 12" became popular, Jamaican Record plants began releasing extended mixes, usually a combination of a vocal track with a dub or DJ counterpart. Later, maxi-singles were released on so-called "Showcase" albums.

This podcast by the Jamaica Hi-Fi crew is a great example of such a showcase. The music, a combination of Jamaican and UK productions from the 1978-1982, comes in a 30 minutes non-stop mix that you will want to play again and again.

The selection is an intelligent report from both Jamaica as well as the UK. We will hear how Jamaican and UK Reggae developed during the period, the similarities and differences will become clear.

In 1978, Jamaican Reggae Music was dominated by Rockers. In 1982, it was Rub a Dub music. The time was "interesting", lots of political violence and conspiracies against the people of Jamaica, Reggae Musicians and Rastafarians in particular.

In the UK, the "Punky Reggae Party" went on big-time as both groups knew themselves to be the target of the very same Babylon Shitstem too. Militancy has always been a strong factor in most UK Roots Reggae until this very day.

THE PUNKY REGGAE PARTY
Dubroom (DUB) Reggae Video Review

WWW, September 2007 - In almost 6 minutes, we're being introduced to a phenomenon that took place in the late 1970's when both Punk and Reggae came together to celebrate their common goal of chanting down Babylon.

It was called the "Punky Reggae Party" and Bob Marley wrote a tune about it which was released in 1977. This small documentary opens up with a few minutes of the tune.

After that, we're being shown a number of sights and sounds of a combination that many people thought was kind of strange, but who feels it knows it.

We'll see Linton Kwesie Johnson explaining some things, too. He was involved in this social movement big-time, too, being a Dub Poet chanting about truths and rights.

Just a bit of history, you know...

For the Punky Reggae Party goes on in every generation.

"RENT-A-RASTA" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 23 2007 - Most people will find the practice of "Rent-A-Rasta" an abomination and rightfully so.

The documentary which borrowed it's name from this practice of sex-slavery in Jamaica shows, how people are being forced into prostitution because of the slavery.

But it is only one aspect of the way in which Babylon Shitstem fights against the Movement of Rastafari.

The documentary shows, in sight and sound, how Rastafari is used as a commercial concept while the true Rastas are not even allowed to have a decent living.

The video has sights and sounds that may offend people, but the truth has to be exposed which is exactly what the film-makers have done, wittingly or unwittingly.

"RENT-A-RASTA" - SEX SLAVERY IN JAMAICA
BABYLON OBSERVER VIDEO REVIEW

WWW, September 2007 - In sight and sound, "Rent a Rasta" portays the many fronts in which Babylon fights the Movement of Rastafari in Jamaca. How slavery continues until this very day.

When Babylon "discovered" the "New World", the original inhabitants were either killed or ghetto-ized while millions of Africans were taken from their homes to work as slaves on the land that was stolen by their slave masters.

The whole western "Judeo-Christian" "Civilization" is built on the slave trade and colonialization. Although everything is officially abolished many years ago, the practice continues until this very day.

Who feels it, knows it, as they say.

In Jamaica, they know it.

It was there, that the Movement of Rastafari was born with the crowning in Ethiopia of Ras Tafari Makonnen as Haile Selassie the 1st, the 225th descendant of King Solomon.

There was the true Judeo-Christian Civilization!

Ever since it's birth, the Movement has been the target of Babylon System. Persecution, disinformation, condemnation, infiltration, corruption, every trick in the book is used against this group.

"Rent a Rasta" deals directly with Babylon's downpressing of Jamaican people and Rastafarians in particular. The raw picture of what Babylon is really doing becomes clear.

The term itself refers to a practice of sex-slavery: hordes of tourists flood the island in search for paid sex with black dreadlocked men. The practice is shown in the video, people openly talk about it.

In the Rastaman's Camp, there's a completely different picture. Several Rastas are interviewed as they speak about the suffering, about being in Babylon.

The contrast in sight and sound is shockingly clear. While the narrator does his best to make sense out of the con-fusion shown in sight and sound, the video proofs without the shadow of a doubt just how abominable and evil Babylon really is.

While the real Rastas are suffering, telling the people to stop sinning and live a righteous life, Babylon has her own per-version of Rastafari which makes some others filthy rich.

FIRMLY PLANTED (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, September 2007 - Reggae Music is a living music. Some would like to keep it somewhere back in the 1970's and pretend the music died somewhere back in that time.

Mick sleeper isn't like that, as he spins a couple of crucial Modern Roots tunes that will cause Babylon to catch a fire once more!

Some call it the Rasta Renaissance: in the 1990's the Bobo Shanti House of Rastafari gained a significance voice in Reggae Music. The Bobo's had thus far not really been that visible within the Reggae Industry, but they came on a mission.

The Bobo Shanti's came to clean up the Dance. Their massive movement was a direct answer to the slackness and cokane-influenced Dancehall that seemed to run the Jamaican Dancehalls during a significant part of the late 1980's.

This episode of Mick Sleeper's Record Shack is completely livicated to the Rasta Renaissance. Lot's of Fire Burning in this selection, nuff chanting down Babylon. Singers and DJ's in a non-stop mix of Rasta Righteousness to lift up our consciousness.

LUCIANO & CAPITAL D - LIVE @ REBEL SALUTE 2005
Dubroom (DUB) Reggae Video Review

WWW, September 2007 - The video of this impressive performance will reveal to the viewer just why Luciano is called "the MessenJAH".

Luciano never fails to impress his audience. This website has heard how even people that hate Rasta and would like to "reform" Reggae Music had to admit how Luciano was touching them with his message.

In this video we will see him in uniform of JAH Army, chanting down Babylon and lifting up his audience. The band plays a heavyweight Roots Music with lots of instruments dropping in and out, while the backing singers are perfectly in tune.

As the band plays the Peter Tosh classic "Legalize It", 5 minutes into the video Luciano steps back for another vocalist, Capital D. The Singers and Players of Instruments then deliver a strong message that Babylon feels big time.

There's one side remark about the video itself. Unfortunately, we do not see the full tracks. The music flow is close to perfect, though.

KING TUBBY THE DUB ORIGINATOR
Dubroom (DUB) Reggae Video Review

WWW, September 2007 - He is the godfather of DUB, we all heard his music and that which was inspired by him. Not many of us have seen him on video, but that is about to change...

King Tubby is widely accredited to be the Godfather of DUB. He was killed just after launching his first full-blown studio. Before that, he had been working in his Dub/Vocal Studio with the multi-tracks of others.

Everyone of any significance has worked with King Tubby during his lifetime. Together with "Daddy" U Roy, the Godfather of Toasting ("Reggae Rap"), he stood at the foundation of what is now common in popular music: heavy drum and bass lines, effects, and rhythmic chanting or "rap".

However, all these styles like Rap and Hip Hop and Contemporary Electronic Dance Music could not be there, or would at least sound quite different, without the indirect influence of King Tubby.

Unfortunately only for 16 seconds, but here he is: KING TUBBY (With the sounds of U Roy in the back)!

In perfect harmony, they rode a number of riddims by Sly and Robbie's Revolutionaries, the studio band for Channel One in the days that Rockers Music was hot.

In this podcast, we're being introduced to the Mighty Diamonds throughout their carrier. Classics like "I Need A Roof" and "Poor Markus" are among the Mighty Diamonds' top tunes, but as the mix shows they are able to ride on a variety of riddims. DUBROOM ONLINE: A DAILY DOSE OF (DUB) REGGAE AND CONSCIOUSNESS
DUBROOM IN-SITE #7

WWW, September 2007 - Gradually, the Dubroom is moving into a next format that will build further on the foundation laid 10 years ago. While nothing is removed, a lot will be added and interaction is only a small part of it.

The Dubroom independently promotes (DUB) Reggae and Consciousness online since 1997. We do so by Reviewing, Releasing and Researching.

Thousands of people visit the site every day to satisfy their hunger for Word, Sound and Power and because everything has it's own category, it's easy to stay away from material that might not have your interest.

Almost every day, new reviews are written and added to the site. Research material and original articles about conscious topics are published on a regular basis as well.

Most of the new additions to the site are mentioned on the Dubroom Front Page, together with a short column by the Dubroom Webmaster. That column can be just about everything: from comments on the new contents of the day to a meditation or just a little word.

The new contents can range from Reviews, Releases and Research material. Every day we have at least one review of a musical work, and more often than not the music can be enjoyed free of charge.

The columns and new items come under the title "Dubroom Online".

You can compare Dubroom Online with a magazine or a daily newspaper, but it's not really the same. This is because we deal with (DUB) Reggae and Consciousness rather than with the latest gossip and propaganda. The format, however, is designed to help you find what you want fast without being bothered by those topics you are not interested in.

You can find a new edition (almost) every day, and not just on the Dubroom Frontpage. There's a couple of messageboards and weblogs where you can find it too, but dubroom.blogspot.com is by far the most interesting place to visit as you can find the columns and the full Reviews and Articles on one page every day.

You can subscribe to Dubroom Online with your browser or RSS reader, or even have the new editions sent to your email address without having to register at the Dubroom Messageboards.

Dubroom Online is also interactive. You can place comments to the new Reviews, Releases and Research material as well as the daily column of the Dubroom Webmaster.

You do not have to register yourself in order to place a comment, but it has to be approved. The prevention measure is to stop spammers and stalkers from mashing up the site.

CHAPTER AND VERSION
SLEEPER'S RECORD SHACK #2

WWW, September 2007 - In the Bible we will find Chapter and Verse, in Reggae Music we'll find Chapters with Versions: vocal tunes with their Dub versions.
Mick Sleeper in a Showcase stylee!

In Reggae Music, we speak about "riddims" rather than "songs". A riddim usually is a bass-line, combined with a theme usually played by horns. Such riddims are re-done throughout the decades by various generations of Studio Bands.

Reggae is very much a Studio Music, even though in the world wide Reggae Culture there are many bands with their own repertoire, a'la Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Tracks are usually recorded in the studio's as instrumentals. Later, vocalists and Dub engineers do things with these riddims and release them under a wide variety of names. Some collectors even make it a real quest to find just about every release of a specific riddim or even a specific recording of a riddim.

Most Reggae 7" vinyl singles come with a vocal mix on the A side, and a "version" or Dub on the other side. People would speak about "chapters" with their "versions".

Later, the 12" would enter the record plants and a chapter and version would be presented in one long non-stop mix. These chapter and version mixes would be collected and released on so called "Showcase" albums.

In the second episode of his excellent podcast, Mick Sleeper shows this principal as he plays a selection of excellent 1970's Rockers Reggae in "Showcase Style".

Ire!

HENRY 'JUNJO' LAWES: RUB A DUB STYLE!
RUB A DUB PODCAST #2

WWW, September 2007 - Six out of the ten tracks in this great 30 minutes non-stop mix contain the vocal works of Yellowman. Still, the podcast isn't credited to this legendary Reggae Toaster who made his name during the 1980's Rub a Dub era.

what's up with that?

Reggae historians will tell you, that Henry 'Junjo' Lawes was the predominant producer of Jamaican Rub a Dub Reggae in the early 1980's. His name is on just too many albums and single releases to mention, and some even credit him with the founding of this early form of Dancehall back in 1979.

Junjo launched singers like Barrington Levy, made extensive use of top notch Dub engineer the Scientist, whose legendary series on the Greensleeves label is considered among the top of the all-time Dub releases.

In this Podcast, the focus is mainly on one of that other legend of Rub a Dub style: Yellowman. All tracks are Junjo productions, though. Showing how the producer worked with Harmony Groups (Wailing Souls), DJ's (Michigan & Smiley) and Singers (Barrington Levy).

New Age Rage (A Babylon Observer Observation)

NEW AGE RAGE
A BABYLON OBSERVER OBSERVATION

WWW, September 2007 - Tolerance, peace, love, unity and positivity. Titles of doctrines within the New age movement. What happens when you break the rules?

Where sects like the so-called "Jehovah Witnesses" predicted the end of the world on a number of occasions, so do the New Agers and the year is 2012. Most with the Movement work towards the establishment of their fascistic New World Order in that year, in which it is said that the "Age of Aquarius" will finally arrive...

We'll see what happens then, as the year is 2007 at the moment this is written. However, it is extremely interesting and sometimes even entertaining to see the principals of the New Age Movement at work as we approach that year.

Whitley Strieber is the host of a broadcast called "Dreamland". He is a well-known author within the New Age Movement and is in direct contact with spirits, or as some would say, "extra terrestrials". He's not your typical New Ager, though.

And this became clear during one of his recent episodes of "Dreamland", in which he interviewed what seemed to be a real New Age Fascist: a man called Daniel Pinchback. Pinchback speaks enthusiastically about the New World Order, and at a certain moment he starts to rebuke the host.

In the New Age Movement, there is what you could call a "doctrine of positivism". You must not speak what is experienced as "negative", and in the same time, you can always accuse your New Age brother of "negativity".

What happens, when you break the rules? How "positive" is "positive" in the New Age Movement? In a nutshell, you can see the fascism at work at a micro-level in Whitley's Strieber's interview with Daniel Pinchback.

Pinchback accuses Strieber of "negativity" because Strieber basically says that there's gonna be a lot of suffering before the New Age can be established according to the prophecies of the New Age movement.

No, it's not that the two New Age Brethren disagree about the upcoming return of Atlantis. It's not, that they think everything is really that positive as they try to prepare themselves and their audiences for the magical 2012.

It's just, that Pinchback is much more legalistic in his total obedience to the "doctrine of positivism". And when he is confronted with too much reality, he activates the defense mechanisms which come with the doctrine.

In his turn, Strieber shows his attachment to the beings that he is in contact with as during the interview he breaks "friendship" with Pinchback. Pinchback, namely, claims that these beings are "negative".

New Age Rage is usually very ugly, but sometimes it can be quite entertaining. This particular episode of Dreamland definitely is worth a listen and worth a smile.

Yes, it is all true that the New Agers are just another branch of Babylon Shitstem that works so hard to establish an environment of evil to dwell in. It's described in the second Psalm of the Good Book, and the response of Jah the Almighty is to laugh hard.

They will fail, as this discussion between two New Age Brethren shows.

Enjoy!

Video: 60 Minutes Of 1984 Jamaican Dancehall

60 MINUTES OF 1984 JAMAICAN DANCEHALL
Dubroom (DUB) Reggae Video Review

In the year of George Orwell's famous book on the Police State, Jamaica was completely captured by Rub a Dub or early Dance Hall Music.

Channel One Studio's was creating hit after hit with the Roots Radics as their Studio Band, while DJ's and Singers chanted over the drum and basslines of what was then a brand new thing.

It was the time in which digital technologies entered the (Jamaican) Studio's big time. Jammy's produced the now famed sleng Teng Riddim that set the tone for yet another thing: Ragga, or simply Dancehall.

This is where, and when, the video captures the sights and sounds in the Dance during a very exciting time in Jamaica, both musically and politically.

Uncensored, that is. So if you can't stand the sights of marihuana or a reasonable amount of sensual dancing, in other words if you can't stand to be in a Reggae Dancehall anyway, read on what you're going to miss out on.

In one hour, a whole host of vocalists enter stage: singers and DJ's. Tippa Lee, Nicodemus, Yami Bolo, Philip Frazer: just four names out of many great performers.

Especially Yami Bolo (around 32 minutes into the video) is kind of special as he really is still a pickney when in that time but already a great performer.

Towards the end of the video, certain vocalists express the fact that they have taken just a little bit too much beer, which has it's charm. Just like the few minutes wherein there is no music, but another vocalist just plays around with the echo on his voice...

An uncensored look in what was a Jamaican Dancehall in Orwell's year. 1984, a year wherein certainly nuff things were going on!

Young Mac Gililan Has A Farm... (Babylon Observer Video Review)

YOUNG MAC GILILAN HAS A FARM...
BABYLON OBSERVER VIDEO REVIEW

WWW, September 2007 - As we forward towards the "Days of Noah" or "Age of Aquarius", Babylon is setting the stage for the return of the Nephilim and making a fortune while she's doing it.

Meet James Gilliland, owner of a big ranch somewhere in the USA. He's a farmer, a very very special farmer with a very very special kind of cattle.

He's raising and preparing his cattle for the slaughter. He's actively looking to increase the number of cattle in his flock, and with the help of the bigger company of which Mr. Gilliland is only an employee, he has reached to a level of which you could say: quite remarkable indeed.

Mr. Gilliland is a Soul-Farmer: a keeper of souls. He is here to help his masters prepare the planet for the return of the days of Noah. The days, of which the ancient books of Genesis and Enoch give unbelievable details. Details, confirmed by archaeology and so called "extra-biblical" manuscripts.

The ancient books speak about Lucifer and how his multitudes of merchandize eventually led him to desire the impossible: break the border between the creation and the Creator.

The books tell us how mankind was tempted and keeps being tempted to worship creation rather than worshipping Jah (God). When the Watchers came down to make themselves offspring through women, they did so in exchange for technology.

They also demanded that humans would stop worshipping the Creator, Who is Himself not a Created Being. They would deny His existence to people, by making Him a part of Creation.

Exactly this is what Mr. Gilliland's says his so-called extra-terrestrial "friends" claim too:

They see the Creator within all creation. They do not separate or divide creation from the Creator, for to them the Creator is omnipresent within all creation. (SOURCE)

The books tell us about the Days of Noah, too. The days in which the planet was literally flooded by the unholy offspring of non-human intelligent beings and humans: the Nephilim.

All of this is a big business in Babylon. For Babylon is all about business and trading, just like Lucifer. That's why people like Zechariah Sitchin and others become filthy rich by telling propaganda stories about all of this. And let's not forget our "Christian" friend either, who are busy creating their own little UFO Enterprise within the structures of the Christian Industrial Complex.

Although this business is about money, ultimately it's about the trading of souls. The good book of the Apocalypse reveals to us how souls a merchandise in the hands of Babylon (Revelation 18:12,13)

Let's not forget our American farmer in all of this!

James Gilliland is all about preparing mankind for the massive return of the days of Noah in our time. In this video, you can see how he speaks to an audience that is avidly looking for contact with the Watchers or "extra-terrestrials" as they call them.

We'll see his farm, where he gathers souls and makes them receptive to be replaced by the spirits of the Nephilim who are desperately trying to initiate the "New Age", "Age of Aquarius", "New World Order", or simply... Days of Noah!

The farm is built on a historical location. It's close to the place where a man called Kenneth Arnold saw UFO's and coined the now legendary phrase "flying saucers". Kenneth Arnold wasn't the only one to see UFO's as the sighting reports go back 100's of years. And today, it's not really different as one UFO manifestation after the other is reported on Gilliland's place.

We'll see him talk, addressing the people of the world to join him in his enterprise. And even though his Clean-Cut Hippie looks may deceive you into thinking how he's not to be taken serious, millions of people actually do take him serious and if only for that, the Babylon Observer observes...

He's a frequent guest on the most popular paranormal and UFO related media channels, people hang on his lips as the "extra-terrestrials" manifest themselves in front of camera's and witnesses to "confirm" his propaganda.

Mr. Gilliland claims how his "extra-terrestrial" friends want to "help "humanity" to reach into the next "evolutionary phase", meaning: forget about being the seed of Adam and Eve. He hails the "technology" that the Watchers have to offer, but fails to explain why his friends are unable to save the world as he claims they can.

Something is holding them back, obviously. That something, according to Mr. Gilliland is the so-called "negativity" of those that disagree with his ideas.

Or the ideas he propagates.

See for yourself!
