"REGGAE MUSIC, LIVING MUSIC" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)
WWW, October 3 2007 - Most people would credit Toots and the Maytals for coming up with the name of the music that we all love so much, when they released a track called "Do the Reggae" back in the 1960's.
The rhythm was slower than the Ska and Rocksteady that had been dominating the Jamaican music scene until then. Rastafari gained more and more influence as well, and little by little the music was developed further.
It's always interesting and fascinating to hear music from these turbulent years. Fascinating to hear the differences and the similarities. Similarities that proof how Reggae Music is a living music!
Give Thanks, One Love,
