MYSTERY BABYLON (172)

Dubroom Online - November 12, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (172)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, November 12 2008 - Before I started to expose the "Gospel Reggae" Industry for what she really is, I had many contacts with Reggae artists who I thought were basically like me: Someone who know the real Yesus and hates Babylon just like Jah hates evil.

I could not imagine, that people who claimed to love Jah could listen to conscious Reggae Music and in the same time be school examples of followers of what in Rastafarian circles is known as the "White Jesus of Babylon", or to put it biblical: A false prophet who comes in the Name of Jesus but is inwardly a wolf.

I could not imagine, that people who claimed to love Jah would listen to the Rastaman chanting down Babylon for years and not know that it is the righteous thing to do.

More Tomorrow...

One Love, Give Thanks,

DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, November 2008 - Get ready for a Showcase of some of the Niceness Reggae Music has to offer us throughout the last decades, especially the 1980's.

In Reggae Music, a Showcase is a collection of tracks wherein the vocal and the Dub are mixed into one long mix.

Originally, these extended tracks were released on 12" Vinyl singles that gave the maximum amount of bass that vinyl can give. But the popularity grew and grew and the first Showcase albums were a fact.

200% Pablow (a reference to the selector) gives us a crucial selection in Showcase style. A Showcase of mainly 1980's Rub a Dub Reggae, and not the least!

Trevor Junior's "I and I Time", "African Girl" by Sugar Minott and Carlton Livingston with his incredible "Itch It Up Operator" are three definite stand-outs in an all-killer-no-filler list.

Pablo Gad's Hard Time is there, too. UK Roots as it sounded back in the early 1980's and singers like Pablo Gad niced up many dance and concert with righteous lyrics and Jah vibes.

Simply a good mix that you can't afford to miss.

DUBROOM VIDEO REVIEW

WWW, November 2008 - DUB has been the vehicle for many, many experiments. It's not just a thing from the recent years, as this 1980's video shows.

The music that carries to ultra-stoned voice is hard to define. It's a beat that sounds like a House beat, but it's played by a real drum or at least made to sound like that. There's a bassline too, very much present.

It was the last video made by the collective that heralded digital Dance music in a time where the term "computerized" was a dirty word for just too many people too mention.
