MYSTERY BABYLON (188)

Dubroom Online - November 28, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (188)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, November 28 2008 - What kept me in the Christian Reggae Scene, after discovering such abominations as described in the previous columns?

The same what keeps us all in Babylon. For obviously, the one and only reason why I share so much about my own experience, is because I learned to recognize mechanisms and principals which can be applied to just about every situation.

For obviously, the "Gospel Reggae Industry" is one of the abominations spoken of when Babylon is not only described as the Mother of Harlots, but also as the Mother of all Abominations.

What you can say about Babylon, you can say about this "Gospel Reggae Industry". Just like, what you can say about Babylon, you also say about let's say the Purpose Driven Church.

More Tomorrow...

One Love, Give Thanks,
Messian Dread (Dubroom Webmaster)

DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, November 2008 - We've come a long way after King Tubby started to spice up his instrumental B sides with effects, movie style. DUB EVOLUTION shows us how far the technique is developed in an excellent presentation of the better UK DUB.

Ariwa, JAH Shaka and Conscious Sounds are the most represented studio's on this collection of heavy drum and basslines as they can arguably only be produced in the UK.

Militant Steppers, pumping One Drop's, long and lasting echo's, righteous lyrics: from the top to the very last drop of this deeply recommended podcast we'll be moving and grooving while giving thanks for the Art called DUB.

Even Horace Andy's Kunta Kinte, even though the track some with full lyrics, could be filed under "Dub". There is just too much mixing going on to ignore.

DUBROOM VIDEO REVIEW

WWW, November 2008 - One big party going on, as the MC's Clint Eastwood and General Saint pop up on stage with a full blown band to make some fun at the UK based "Old Grey Whistle Test".

"Another One Bites The Dust", is the title of the tune the DJ Duo performs. They were known from their world hit "Stop That Train", as representants of Rub a Dub Style in the World Charts.

And no, that is not "World Music". For every music is "World Music".

That aside...

Clint Eastwood and General Saint have a lot of fun together with the band and the audience, as they perform what was then a brand new Style of Reggae.
