MYSTERY BABYLON (147)

Dubroom Online - October 18, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (147)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, October 18 2008 - The Africans who were taken to the "New World" as slaves became one of the most blatant examples of Babylonian slavery, their story is the symbol for billions of people who are all in slavery.

Yes, all of us are taken from the "Land of Creation" into slavery. We are all taken from our original and natural status as Jah's creations in order to work as slaves for a shitstem that is ultimately designed to make an end to mankind as Jah created us!

The best way to keep people in slavery, is to make them think that they are free where they are in fact working for the slave masters that keep them in bondage from the cradle to the grave.

Yes, we must realize and admit to ourselves and to our Creator ultimately, that we are indeed not free at all.

And when we are not free, we can never be who we are created to be.

More Tomorrow...

One Love, Give Thanks,
Messian Dread (Dubroom Webmaster)

DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - Eighty minutes of High Quality Low Frequency vibes: classic Jamaican DUB from the 1970's and early 1980's from the top to the very last drop!

While listening, or rather: experiencing this Podcast, we're taken from one Jamaican studio to the next. Everywhere we go, the drum and bass play a crucial foundational line as the DUB engineers put their own personal mark on the several tracks that we can hear throughout the 80 minutes.

This was the time, and the place, wherein DUB music was developed and reached the artistical status it currently has. The time and place, wherein the engineer behind the mixing board became an artist himself years before the concept would be adopted by newer musical styles such as House and Techno.

Studio's like Channel One and Lee Perry's Black Ark released numerous tunes with numerous vocalists all doing their own thing in what was an explosion of creativity, producing material that until this very day makes one and ones move and groove once more.

Check it out, enjoy the deep deep bass and high quality sound, enjoy a selection of known, lesser-known and rather unknown material.

After all: Dubbing Is A Must!

DUBROOM VIDEO REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - In this video, we meet female vocalists Queen Ifrica and Choc'late as they hail up family and friendship in an upfull, joyful tune.

Positive vibes fe true in this video clip produced by Wayne Benjamin, a hard working brother whose many productions all feature up and coming Jamaican vocalists. Time and time again, he provides another proof of the fact that consciousness has not left Jamaica, in spite of what some people sometimes might think.

The two sistren in featured in this video clip big up friendship and family in a heartfelt tune. The riddim is upfull and joyful, has a few slices of dancehall but can overall be considered as a fine, contemporary, Roots Reggae tune.

Feel!
