Dubroom Online, Edition April 26 May 2 2010

HERE IS... THE WEEKLY! (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, April 26 2010 - Greetings and thank you for your interest in the Dubroom. Today, I'm grateful to present to you the very first edition of the Dubroom Weekly, which includes a lot of MP3 music and much more.

Because it is the first edition, the format and lay-out is pretty basic even though I've worked on it for a week. I hope you like it nevertheless.

Lot's of changes in my life, lot's of changes in the Dubroom, it's hard to keep up with, even for myself. But I do see that everything points out to a certain direction and that direction is Mount Zion so I don't complain.

Anyway, I hope that you like the Dubroom Weekly and when you want to have more dynamics, more postings and so, simply turn to the Dubroom Message Boards where you can find all kinds of very interesting material.

One Love, Give Thanks,
Messian Dread (Dubroom Webmaster)

The above column is the personal opinnion of the Webmaster and does not neccesarily reflect the contents of the Dubroom Website and/or Message Boards and/or Weblogs.

DUBROOM MP3 ALBUM REVIEW

PANDA DUB - BLACK BAMBOO

WWW, April 2010 - Panda Dub's latest 10-track Net Album Black Bamboo is one next release in what can in the meantime be considered as a brand new genre within (online) Dub: FR DUB!

Strong electronic drum and bass lines, melodic parts and sweet vocals, original and rare instrumentations, everything mixed together in authentic DUBWISE style: Panda Dub did it again and so he deserves to be heard once again, too.

Released on the French Net Label "Original DUB Gathering", Black Bamboo takes us to a wide variety of vibes from hard stepping DUB to a more sweet rendering of "Soul Rebel", in which the female singer sings the words "I'm A Living Man And I Got Work To Do".

All-in-all, a must-have for every self-respecting collector of (online) DUB.

WWW, April 2010 - Online (DUB) Reggae Artist David Pablo introduces his fellow artists to a triplet of websites where they can upload and promote their musical works as well as having contact with other artists.

Seven years ago, those of us who are members of the online (dub ) reggae community could never have envision a world without Versionist.com. But through a series of backroom deals which we will not go into detail about here, the Mighty Versionist is no more. Fear not, fellow artists and producers, for a new crop of user generated reggae sites has appeared over the last few years, the top 3 are (in no particular order):

KingDub -Community.com

myReggaespace.com

and Dubark.com

Let's take a look at what each of these have to offer:

MYREGGAESPACE.com

Visit Site

MYREGGAESPACE.com (also known as ReggaeMp3.com) features a mix of established names alongside underground artists. There are many great tunes licensed directly from such notable veterans like Jah Thomas and Bunny Lee for sale, and underground artists also have the option of selling their tunes. Members are referred to as "Reggae Citizens" and the owner, Silver Kamel (a legend on his own), is always available to provide assistance. His mission statement is:

"So here I am again, intent on bringing to you a selection of music that I feel will somehow affect your life, whether it makes you happy and want to dance, awakens your inner consciousness and makes you think, or you just want to play it because it makes you feel good. Whatever. Life is short, enjoy every moment of every day, and help pass on your good vibes on the way."

DUBARK.com

Visit Site

Dubark ,which is more or less aimed directly at the Versionist diaspora, features an eclectic selection of underground artists. It is owned by Gadman Dubs, who grew up in the UK Soundsystem arena (his Father operated a sound). Artists may also sell their music.

KINGDUB.com

Visit Site

KingDub Community ,which appears to be the newest of the three, provides a great selection of underground artists as well as featuring a nifty toolbar which links to Facebook and Myspace. They also have an Apple application that allows listeners the ability to listen to KingDub Radio anywhere: http://iworld.squatsoft.com/kingdub/

It must be noted that, while each individual site shares the same inherit basic features, each site also has enough uniqueness (Dubark boasts a section for Loops and Vst plug-ins for example) that the three compliment each other rather than compete. Many of the more promotional savy artists are members in good standing at all three sites. Indeed a breath of fresh air for many older community members.

A VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS

WWW, April 26 2010 - In my previous spiritual update, I shared how I was proverbially crossing the Red Sea. Of course, crossing that sea gets you into the wilderness as you march forward to Zion.

A report from the wilderness...

It's the title of the first tune of my first album called "One": A Voice In The Wilderness. Those who read their Bibles know that the phrase comes out of the Book of Books and it refers to John the Baptizer, who was announcing the coming of Yesus Messiah.

Everybody who follows Yesus, who know themselves to be truly born again, will recognize themselves in the story of John the Baptizer: are we not all in the wilderness, trying to get the Message through to everyone that indeed Messiah is coming soon?

So sure, I recognize myself there, too.

In the wilderness, you will only meet other people who for some reason find themselves away from the urban areas, the areas where most people want to dwell because of the comfortable state.

The Rejected, you could say. The ones who are not accepted by the majority. But also the ones who themselves have rejected Babylon System and Culture will be found in that proverbial wilderness: the place where the Konformed will never trod.

I see this reflected in my own spiritual runnings, more and more and more as time goes by. I'm not trodding the road of the Konformed. If I would, I would have been in some kind of established industry releasing my censored "music" or something like that but instead I find myself with a small axe doing the works.

I'm happy with this situation, too, for I know just why I cannot konform. I know why I cannot do what most people do as they search for Komfort rather than Truth. It's like in that movie "The Matrix" where most people live in a dream world without realizing it, many of them refusing to wake up even when they realize that they do live in that Matrix.

The wilderness is too heavy for them...

But it's in that Wilderness that we hear the Voice. The Voice of Jah saying that He is coming soon. You will not hear this voice in the Komfort-Zone, or should I say Konform-Zone, you will only hear it after discovering that the Truth is hated and those who speak Truth are rejected.

Strangely enough, it is also in the wilderness that we know ourselves to be fed by Jah. In the Konform-Zone, the life-style without Jah laws written in the heart, the (spiritual) food doesn't come from Jah and therefore the (spiritual) growth is null and void.

And so, I find myself in that wilderness. I find myself being fed by Jah, I find myself reasoning with others who have been trodding the same way out of Babylon, I find myself being guided and guarded by Him.

I hope to see you soon.

One Love, Give Thanks,
Messian Dread
