"REGGAE AND RELIGION (3)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)
WWW, November 4 2007 - Bob Marley, the King of Reggae, always talked about his personal faith. And in this, he was definitely not alone!
Many will speak about Reggae as JAH Music, pointing out to the obvious spiritual or religious elements that can be found everywhere.
It even goes so far, that artists will sing about Jah without even meaning a word of what they are singing! Yours truly was first confronted with this somewhere in the mid-1980's when a singer said: "I just say Rastafari because I like to say the word".
Sure, we can raise our eye browses over such creative bankruptcy and maybe we should. But you can also look at it in a different way.
Give Thanks, One Love,
Messian Dread (Dubroom Webmaster)
