DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW
WWW, January 2008 - TK HiFi's concept of "Mix Plates" is taken to the max in this Internet release. In true Showcase Style, we hear Peter Tosh, Junior Murvin and many others in a way we didn't hear the before!
Can't really call this a Podcast: it's an album, actually. An album with seven excellent remakes of seven well known tunes by well known vocalists.
With one exception, they're all voiced by the original vocalists and come with an excellent DUB version in the second part.
Can't really call it an album of remixes either: these are Mix Plates, says TK HiFi. Mix Plates are complete remakes of the tune, usually played by Sound Systems.
How they do it, we will never know. But how it sounds, does not have to remain a question for too long. Just download and play as I would say.
You will hear just over 47 minutes of pure Reggae Music, Showcase style: every track comes with a vocal part followed by an excellent DUB. You will hear the seven well known tracks in a way you have not heard them before and will not hear them again.
