HOT DROP - SUGAR AND
SPICE
DUBROOM MP3 ALBUM REVIEW
WWW, January 2021 - The first thing that
should be said about this Showcase album by the Spanish band Hot Drop and Puppa
Shan at the controls, is this: when you love your 1970's/80's Reggae, when you
love your better Reggae band in analogue fashion, when you love your better Dub
you simply cannot afford to not have Sugar and Spice in your collection.
The title of the album is well-chosen. Even
though everything is mixed exactly the way it was done in pre-digital times,
there's a wide variety of different Reggae styles. Smooth Lover's Rock, Hard
Roots, pre-digital UK Roots: good vibes all over the place, that's for sure. We
can only be thankful to both Hot Drop and the excellent Net Label La Famille!
