SIZZLA - FIRE FAVORITES

SIZZLA - FIRE FAVORITES
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - To burn some Lamb's Bread, some take a Rizzla. To burn some Fire Pon Babylon, some would definitely take a Sizzla. And since the doctor prescribes the medicine, he selected some Fire Favorites in which the versatility of Sizzla's vocal talents really come to it's value.

Brooklyn based DJ Dr. Tahl presents well over an hour of stricktly Sizzla, but not just in the chanting style that most of us know the Jamaican dancehall vocalist.

Sizzla is known for his "Fire Tunes", in which he chants down many sides of Babylon. From his cultural center Judgement Yard, he releases one flame after the other. Musically, he will voice hard core dancehall riddims in one time, the other occasion he will use rootsy one drop drums or militant steppers.

The total picture of Sizzla's works until now are pretty well covered in "Fire Favorites", a perfect title for not just a Podcast, but also for the wonderful accompanying notes DJ Dr. Tahl wrote.

"MYSTERY BABYLON (151)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, October 22 2008 - "As long as it feels good, do it!", or : "we all have our own truth"...

Of course, until a certain degree this is true. To me, it feels good to play Dub music and it is also true that I have a Dutch passport. There's nothing wrong with playing Dub Music, and the fact I have a Dutch passport doesn't mean everyone has such a thing.

However, Aleister Crowley and his spirit teacher made it to a "law". A law which is obeyed by just too many without them even knowing that are factually obeying a law.

Don't underestimate this man who died in 1947. He called himself "the Beast 666" and even tried to make a body for the Antichrist, which he called the Babylon Works.

His law is obeyed by many, and it is this law which prevents just too many people from actually stepping out of Babylon.

DOWNLOAD: JOURNEY RIDDIM

Starting with strings, slowly the Journey Riddim builds up, while Jah Cure voices the introduction perfectly. The drum and bass subsequently drop in and out in what is really an original, surprising riddim.

A One Drop drums is accompanied by some creative keyboard hits, the singer mixed perfectly with effects and background vocals.

NEW AGE RAGE (3): PETER JOSEPH

NEW AGE RAGE (3): PETER JOSEPH
BABYLON OBSERVER RADIO REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - What happens when talk show host Alex Jones wakes up to the fact that the video Zeitgeist is a piece of New Age Propaganda? He invites the maker of the video for an interview.

In February of this year, the Babylon Observer published a review on the movie "Zeitgeist". It was subtitled: "An Excursion Into Stupidity". The video was all about how Jesus Christ was a myth invented by people who are now basically controlling the world. It mixed truth with New Age propaganda of such "teachers" as Jordan Maxwell.

Much of that propaganda was so blatantly wrong, that the maker of the video, a guy who calls himself Peter Joseph and who says he works in the television industry, had to release a second edition with some of the errors corrected.

Recently, Peter Joseph released another movie, with more of the traditional New Age Nazi rhetoric. The New Age "Plan" is so blatantly proposed in the video, that even Alex Jones of the Infowars radio show woke up to the fact that "Zeitgeist" has nothing to do with exposing Babywrong, and everything with bringing forth the very same New World Order that the movie claims to oppose!

Alex Jones decided to bring Peter Joseph on his show for a "discussion". This discussion turned out to be an enormous spectacle as the Texas based host confronts an unbelievably arrogant Peter Joseph, whose whole appearance matches perfectly with his extreme elitist philosophy.

As he unfolds his plan for his New Age Utopia, the moviemaker speaks about how people have to be "re-conditioned" in order to live in his preferred "society". A society which -not surprisingly- looks remarkably similar to Hitler's Third Reich and Communist countries such as the former Soviet Union and China.

There's one thing which holds him from establishing his Utopia, though. Peter Joseph gets the most passionate when he speaks about it, and he calls it "religion". Actually, to be more specific, "Christianity". From the Vatikan, the city with the seven hills, to the individual worship of Jesus Christ by countless of people worldwide: Peter Joseph knows just where the trouble is!

After all, in the eyes of the Zeitgeist creator, there is no such thing as "evil". That would only be a concept created by "religion", and it would disable people from moving into his Utopia.

Alex Jones, known for his rants and confrontive way of interviewing, counters Peter Joseph. Jones' views, namely, more than oppose that of the creator of Zeitgeist. After all, in the eyes of Alex Jones, there is definitely such a thing as "evil".

The result is about two hours of chilling audio, wherein once again the fascistic nature of the New Age philosophy and mentality is exposed.

Join the Babylon Observer with a good chuckle, several smiles, and hope with him that Alex Jones might wake up to the fact that there is way too much New Age propaganda in what is called the "Truth Movement".

Listen to the interview, and then listen to Alex Jones' evaluation he did the other day as he also interviewed a couple of more people concerning "Zeitgeist".

MYSTERY BABYLON (150)

Dubroom Online - October 21, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (150)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, October 21 2008 - Many of us have been trained, conditioned, to take our own feelings as the highest source of information. This is a thing which has been carefully planted in society.

Actually, it's very old. there's even some academic word for it: Hedonism...

Hedonism is a way to keep whole populations under mental slavery, where these populations themselves think that they are free.

The most recent proponent of this was a man called Aleister Crowley. "Do what you will (feel), is the whole of the law", he wrote in a book that was dictated to him by some entity that looked remarkably similar to what is currently known as a "Grey Alien".

Aleister Crowley has a major influence on many of today's thinkers, from politicians to musicians and everything in between.

It is his parroting of the entity that came to him after he had some kind of ritual in the Great Pyramid (yeah, the one of the One Dollar Bill) which keeps many people today from breaking free from Babylon.

DUBSTA CHAPTER FOUR

DUBSTA CHAPTER FOUR
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - From Studio One to the current House studio's and online artists: everything DUB is in the fourth chapter of the excellent DUBSTA series. Once again, a deep deep excursion into DUB space.

We definitely go beyond the realm of what is generally considered to be Reggae Music in this one hour mix of some very extra-ordinary material. A bit of R&B and House isn't avoided at all by the selectors, which makes the (90%) Reggae even more strong.

After all, the theme of the Dubsta series is obviously DUB: from the ancient times when it was born to the present times wherein the art and technique is present in musical styles that have in themselves nothing to do with Reggae at all.

The selectors behind the Dubsta series don't go too far beyond the realms of Reggae, however. In this mix, there is even a Dub version from a track by the 1980's band "The Police" which cannot be defined other than contemporary Dub Reggae.

That is, just after one of the hardest online Dub artists at the moment (Fried Wire) gives acte d' presence with another crucial piece of original Dub Reggae: another highlight in this highly interesting and well-balance one hour selection of dub, dub and dub.

ALPHA AND OMEGA WITH JONAH DAN - WATCHING OVER I
DUBROOM VIDEO REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - Alpha and Omega love their audience enough to have their video technician create a clip around a tune even before it is officially release and they put it online for you and I to enjoy.

Alpha and Omega are a leading force within UK DUB with their own specific sound and basslines. Deep, deep basslines!

They've had a whole legion of vocalists voicing over their original riddims and the result is something very unique that you just cannot afford to dislike when you're into DUB, even "just" into Reggae Music.

In "Watching Over I", UK vocalist Jonah Dan sings over the riddim, chanting spiritual words of wisdom that will appeal to the Righteous Rastaman and others who know themselves. The tune, according to the description given by Alpha and Omega who put the video online themselves, is currently in it's pre-release stage.

A sign of Raspect to the audience, let's give them Raspect too and buy their material as they need it!
