"MYSTERY BABYLON (163)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, November 3 2008 - It's in the obvious, that we can learn to recognize mechanisms that also drive us in our thinking, feeling, acting.

In the obvious that the so-called clergy are nothing but spiritual fornicators, con-fusers, who keep the people under rule of the elite in the name or Name of some God (or gods).

The very same reasoning that makes people say they are "pro life" but support the killing of innocent people in let's say Afghanistan, also keeps us in a mental form of slavery.

A reasoning that makes people write to the Dubroom to tell us in the name of "Jesus Christ" how they prefer their Babylon approved "Gospel Reggae" over music that makes people (quote) "smoking ganja and rebelling against the white society."

NOVEMBER DUB MONTH!
DUBROOM IN-SITE 12

WWW, November 2008 - When you like DUB, you will like November in the Dubroom. This month is DUB MONTH as we celebrate the Art that gave the name to this website.

Those who keep a close eye on the Dubroom rather than just checking the daily editions of Dubroom Online, know that many reviews are written before they are presented on the website's front page.

At the time this is written, yours truly is working hard on writing the Podcast reviews for the month November. And as they are posted throughout the coming month, one thing will be very clear: November is DUB Month as we will explore the many different sides and styles of the Art that gave name to this website.

Within the Reggae Community, DUB does not always deserve the credit it should be given. There are those who consider it no more than a filler for a B-side, others show their ignorance when they claim how a tune should always be filled with lyrics from the top to the last drop in order to be appreciloved.

In fact, sometimes the influence of DUB is more acknowledged outside of the Reggae Community as one electronic producer after the other dives deep in the DUB archives to get their "latest" crucial sound.

Reasons enough to give a little bit more special attention to the Art that gave the name to this website.

So check out the Dubroom in this month for some crucial, crucial Drum and Bass driven music.

"MYSTERY BABYLON (162)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, November 2 2008 - Generation after generation after generation, people have been brainwashed by Babylon system. Even worse: they have been forced into a spiritual fornication which has become so normal that nobody even seems to see it, and when they do, they don't care.

Church buildings, for example. Of course these are places that have a function in the system we call "civilization". Priests, pastors and preachers have been doing nothing but fornicating with the system, and subsequently they have been preaching nothing but Babylonian Doctrines in their "Churches".

And so, now, we have people who claim to follow the teaching of Yesus Kristos going all over the world killing people, enslaving them, and they don't even realize it.

This mechanism applies to all of us, in a way.

ROOTS MINISTRY MIXDOWN PART 11
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - In another great mix by Roots Ministry selector Sista Simone, we explore more UK ROOTS and DUB drum and basslines with their vocal counterparts.

Indeed: here is one more essential addition to the collection of every self-respecting lover of the better (DUB) Reggae.

Often, Roots Ministry will introduce us to names of artists.

Dub From Atlantis, for example. Just after the very strong opening tune, just before Enos Mc Leod and Earl Zero ride a Jamaican Rub a Dub riddim, we're introduced to this interesting group.

The Bristol-based UK DUB collective started in 2000 and deserve more attention than they presently (seem to) get.

It's hard, too.

There's just too much better-than-good (DUB) Reggae, as Sista Simone of the German based Roots Ministry shows us once again. Her exceptional skills in dealing with the turntable and mixing board are a joy for the heart and soul as she leads us from one riddim into the next in ever-surprising ways.

Mixdown number 11? You guessed it. Get it!

BABYLON OBSERVER VIDEO REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - In this 2005 documentary, we see a fictional account of a 24 hour period that starts with the "Mighty Dollar" on top and ends with somebody in Amsterdam paying her taxi-ride with a few packets of cigarettes.

When Peter Tosh sang "The Day The Dollar Die", he didn't refer to an impossibility. His song was not a dry economic lecture or crazy conspiracy theory, but it did refer to economics and conspiracies that throughout the years have become more and more clear for people to see.

When he sang his song, it was still the 1980's. There was no Internet and the Mighty Dollar was the undisputed World Currency. The American Money Press simply came up with the paper money that people used to pay each other.

Many would simply ignore the message of Peter Tosh, or even write it off as the phantasies of a drugged-out individual.

In 2005, however, reality has become more clear and although this is a fictional account, the video reviewed on this page makes it very clear how the Dollar can die in one day, leaving the world at the edge of a world war and people paying their taxi rides with a box of cigarettes rather than paper money.

In 49 minutes, we are taken through this 24 hour period which is written by established Dutch journalists. As he paints his fictional scenario, we're taken directly to interviews that confirm the possibility, even probability, of that day which Peter Tosh sang about.

NOTES BY THE MAKERS:

Do we live on a bubble? Is it possible for the heavily indebted American economy to collapse and take all of us down in a free fall with it? Have the days of the dollar been counted? Is it really u... Do we live on a bubble? Is it possible for the heavily indebted American economy to collapse and take all of us down in a free fall with it? Have the days of the dollar been counted? Is it really unimaginable that we will see the time of the Great Depression repeating itself?

VPRO Backlight and Dutch national newspaper NRC Handelsblad present this 'what if' scenario. What if the dollar collapses? Fiction meets facts in this 24 hour scenario. At 9AM a Singapore trader is ordered to sell a large amount of dollars, which sends off the enormous downfall of the dollar. This film shows the results for the world economy every following hour. It ends in Amsterdam, where the only currency accepted by a taxi driver is Cigarettes...

History seems to have caught up with this 2005 film, though in slow-motion...

Includes interview with analyst Stephen Roach, Andy Xie, Maarten Schinkel, Cees Maas, Rob de Wijk and Kees Vendrik.

"MYSTERY BABYLON (161)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, November 1 2008 - What exactly is the "spiritual fornication" that stands at the roots of the confusion or mix-up of those people who believe they are "pro-life" and in the same time love the killing of innocent people in Afghanistan?

In their case, usually they call themselves "Christians". Many of them follow teachings of people like the Pope and John Calvin, teachings which clearly mix the ancient Babylonian Mystery Religions with the message of Yesus Kristos.

Basically, what they are doing, is to mix what the Bible calls "The Kingdom Of JAH" with the system we call "Civilization".

Things described as "Fruits of the Holy Spirit", like love and patience and so on, are deformed and become law in a system that can be traced directly to Nimrod.

WWW, October 2008 - When Augustus Pablo's melodica, King Tubby's echo's, and Paul Blackman's voice open up number ten of the Roots Ministry series of Mixdowns, the tone is set. Deep, deep Dub and Roots U just can't refuse!

The previous episode of the Roots Ministry Podcast predominantly contained contemporary UK DUB and Roots. This one, selected by Papa Jason, brings us back in time to the island where Reggae originated.

The time of Rockers. The time of Augustus Pablo, King Tubby and Jacob Miller. All of which are present in what can only be described as yet another gem of the collector of the better (DUB) Reggae Music.

Mixed in a no-nonsense style, the show brings us to the very same heigher heights in which the music was produced in the first place.

Take a sip, and disturb your neighbors!
