NICE UP
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, November 2008 - Time to Nice it Up, starting off with Barrington Levy's Here I Come ("Broader than Broadway"): what only can follow, will. Sweet Rub a Dub and Ire Rockers, Nice Up the Dance!

Charlie Chaplin follows Barrington Levy's Here I come, and the tone is set. People dem move and groove as Charlie Chaplin explains how Reggae Music gone worldwide to give positive vibes to the people everywhere.

Positive vibes galore in this mix, which could hardly be different with a title like that. The bulk of the music is smooth Rub a Dub: the everlasting Late Night Blues riddim, for example.

Next to Rub a Dub, Nice Up also contains some Jamaican Reggae tracks produced before Rub a Dub music was born. A crucial selection that will simply do what it promises in the title.

MARK MESSAM

MARK MESSAM
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

Every now and then, the magnificent voice of this brother reminds us of Barrington Levy during his better days.

However, it would do justice to Jamaican-born Mark Messam, currently "Rhode Island's Finest", to leave at that.

This highly skilled Reggae Singer has his own style, which adds to the spectrum of pure Reggae rather than corrupting it.

MYSTERY BABYLON (169)

Dubroom Online - November 9, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (169)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, November 9 2008 - When you want to Step Out Of Babylon, you will see the mechanisms she uses to keep people enslaved.

Thousands and thousands of years went into the development of a shitstem that is so complex, that the way out is very, very narrow.

It's not just the police and soldiers in their police and war economy states, not just the preachers and the presidents, not just the guru's and the shamen that keep us under bondage.

No, it's worse: Babylon has managed to make people... police each other!

GENERAL MIX
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, November 2008 - Vocals, DJ tracks and DUBS: they're all presented in this versatile compilation of some of the better Jamaican Reggae produced since the mid 1970's.

A more recent version Dennis Brown's "General", followed by a DUB from an older rendition of the same track by the same singer open up this mix filled with Jamaican Niceness.

Although the volumes of the different tracks vary quite a bit which you might like to know before putting the volume to your speakers at a maximum, it's a true joy to listen to the General Mix.

Simply because it's filled with crucial DUBs, DJ and vocal tracks.

Have a beautiful day: not too difficult with the General Mix.

MYSTERY BABYLON (168)

Dubroom Online - November 8, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (168)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, November 8 2008 - As you as you start to speak about "Truth", just see what happens: the mind control under which Babylon tries to keep her slaves is activated in full force as they will close their ears.

Some people can go very, very far in this and will not only close their ears when they hear the word "Truth", they will even fight you down because you are seen as the biggest criminal against humanity.

The first thing you will hear from them is, that the Truth is that you can not know the Truth because we all have our own Truth and it is intolerant to pretend you know the Truth.

To say: "The Truth Is That There Is No Truth", is of course something straight out of George Orwell's 1984

But for some reason, this "double-speak" is not noticed by most of us.

DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, November 2008 - After the excellent introduction, we definitely know we're just about to get known with some of the Top Secrets of the world (and beyond), and the most secret of all secrets has three letters.

Our host put a lot of effort in getting this mix on it's way. The opening is excellent, the first two selections show some courage. Adrian Sherwood's On-U sound takes us into his world view and after that, straight to the Biggest Secret of all Secrets: Jamaican DUB.

Millions of people dance on music that could never have been there if there would not have been such a thing as DUB, Jamaican DUB.

This Top Secret Material is obviously carefully selected and contains things added by our host who -we said it before- know Reggae Music by heart, soul and mind.
