Not a laughing matter, even though some may do. Seven minutes, two DUB mixes of what can only be a serious riddim.

So serious, that the first mix has several sound clips of George W. Bush making fun of the fact that no WMD's were found in Iraq, where he talks down on what he calls "conspiracy theories" in another clip.

Serious, as the DUB Effects in the second mix show to the ear. Especially with some subwoofer able to produce really low sound, this DUB will come to it's full power.

WWW, December 2008 - Starring Jimmy Cliff as Rhygin, The Harder They Come tells the story of Jamaica's Robin Hood (or Al Capone) as he comes to Kingston and grows out to be the talk of the town.

This movie was shot in the 1970's, not quite the time where Rhygin troubled the police on Jamaica. But that doesn't matter, especially not since this movie does more than "just" telling Rhygin's story.

The Harder They Come gives a pretty good insight in Jamaica during the mid 1970's, even though the economical situation hasn't changed much throughout the decades.

Young Jimmy Cliff enters Kingston as his mother died, and get confronted with the high cost of living and huge unemployment. Music, often seen as the other way out of the ghetto, turns out to be inaccessible for talented people due to corruption.

After a long, long attempt to basically get a life, Jimmy Cliff becomes one of Jamaica's legends. Rhygin, seen by one as Robin Hood and by the other as Al Capone, was a pain in the neck for Jamaica's police until they shot him to death.

This great movie tells Rhygin's story, while giving a picture of Jamaica during the 1970's. Essential!

WWW, December 29 2008 - As we know that in the end, everything comes from Jah and is for His glorification, He does use us all for many purpose and reason.

As He made me to do Dubroom, He also uses others to contribute to the website as well. He uses a wide variety of people for a wide variety of reasons, where most of them want to stay anonymous.

However, I do wish to give thanks to all the Bredren and Sistren world wide who have been contributing to the content and continuity of the Dubroom.

"EVALUATING 2008 (18)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 28 2008 - In 2008, a lot of ground work was laid for the future, and so, evaluating this year is looking to the foundation.

First of all, that Foundation is JAH Rastafari, the Most High, or Yesus Kristos as I call Him. He has made everything possible and is the Foundation for everything that I and I do.

Within Reggae Music Culture, praising the Most High is not an offense to most, but there are ones who most definitely would like to keep Jah, or God, out of the music.

Even Satan come to divide Reggae and even Rasta Culture in his most cunning ways. But Reggae, through the very nature of the music, shows without a doubt who says on the solid foundation.

So without apology, our first thanks and even praises go out to the One and Only, the Alpha and the Omega, Yesus Kristos, Jah Rastafari!

WWW, December 2008 - Are UFO's real and do the governments of the world know more than they care to admit through their official channels? When this movie turns out to be real, the answer to both questions must be "yes".

The year is 1969 and Europe was still divided by the Iron Curtain. The Cold War was at another peak and no information seemed to cross the border of the East and the West.

It was in this time, that the video reviewed on this place is said to have been recorded. By the KGB, to be exact. A number of Soviet Soldiers are seen as they're transported to a place with trees, and what seems to be a crashed UFO.

There's guards all around the UFO, that isn't really flying by the way. The thing seems to have crashed straight into the ground, and only half of the disk is above ground. We take a closer look, even some close-up's, as the movie is recorded at the instructions of what seems to be a KGB officer.

Is it real? Yes, say the producers of the video "The Secret KGB UFO Files". And, indeed, this is very well possible: after all, the movie was bought in post-communist Russia, in a time wherein just about everything was for sale. Including secret documents of the KGB.

It is not too far-stretched, though, to see the movie as an illustration of the fact that throughout (modern) history, different governments were actively trying to find out just what's going on, if not having direct contact with the intelligent beings behind the UFO's.
