Digital DUB and contemporary Dance music has a lot in common, one of which is the fact that the engineers take their time before releasing the drum and bass to the fullness. Soul Remedy knows it all too well!

The fact that Heartical knows how to play a crucial bassline comes to the foreground in the 6th track of this deep excursion into the Art of DUB. The superb mixing on the bass, one of the most difficult things to achieve in DUB, shows his talents once again.

TRACK 5: SOUL REMEDY - WORLD OF SORROW
The 1980's electronic drum sounds go very well with the minimalistic synthesizers over this Steppers Dub. It's a world of sorrow, but this tune does provide some comfort still. Can't wait to hear the DUB, though..
Dubroom Online - April 5 2009
"ONLINE DUB ARTISTS (4)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)
WWW, April 5 2009 - A few months after I put a Real Audio file on the Dubroom, back in 1997, I was introduced to the MP3 phenomena. It was in a discussion on Usenet, a part of Internet that is forgotten by most.
You can imagine the nature of the discussion. People were predicting the end of the music industry, which obviously drew my attention.
A little while later, I discovered a small website called "MP3.com". It had the possibility for artists, to upload their music in MP3 format so that others could download it.
I was not the first Reggae Artist on MP3.com, but I think I could very well have been the first DUB producer over there. In any way, I was among the first and this enabled me to observe the rise of the Online Artist phenomenon, a phenomenon that has taken a strong position in Cyberspace.

Dubroom Online - April 4 2009
"ONLINE DUB ARTISTS (3)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)
WWW, April 4 2009 - When I started the Dubroom, I had never heard of MP3's. I created Midi files that people could play on their soundcards, and it didn't take me long to have several albums of original Midi files available for download.
There was also a thing called "Real Audio". I remember that I recorded a Midi file in audio and released it for download on the Dubroom. Someone sent me an email, warning me that it was not so wize to put complete versions of my music online...
Fortunately, I have not listened to that advice. Even though I had never heard of MP3's before, I did have that urge to share my music directly with the listeners rather than having to go all the way through the Industrial Konformity Procedures.
