"THIS IS THE DUBROOM (4)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 5 2009 - The Dubroom keeps up with the tradition that connects (DUB) Reggae and Consciousness, while maintaining a very necessary independence to continue this position.

It drives the choice for material to review, obviously. On top of that, it also drives the way everything is presented on the site.

In this column, for example, I allow myself to write from a personal perspective.

I will however not do that without stating specifically that I am stating my own ideas here.

A thing you can see in the fact that under each column you can read how it contains my own opinion and not necessarily that of the Dubroom as a whole.

One Love, Give Thanks,
Messian Dread (Dubroom Webmaster)

"THIS IS THE DUBROOM (3)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 4 2009 - Another aspect that identifies the nature of the Dubroom, next upholding the tradition that (DUB) Reggae and Consciousness are connected, is the independent nature of this site.

This independence is very important, as it is the guarantee that the music which is reviewed on the Dubroom is actually considered worthy to be presented to the average listener of (DUB) Reggae Music.

It's also the guarantee that conscious topics are approached without any organization or (religious) group of any kind being able to push their agenda.

A website which is completely in the hands of a bigger corporation, is obviously not independent. But a website where the content is actually user-driven, in other words a website where everyone can do everything, is also not independent.

Dubroom Online, Edition September 3 2009

"THIS IS THE DUBROOM (2)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 3 2009 - (DUB) Reggae and Consciousness are -arguably- very much connected.

This is a tradition, even, which obviously relates to the fact that Reggae Music was not born anywhere else but in the hearts of the Jamaican people who had to face the negative sides of world history to the bone.

It's a tradition which is not just very much respected in the Dubroom, but even practiced with strong conviction.

I believe, that keeping up this tradition, sometimes "against all odds", is appreciloved by the vast majority of those that frequently visit the Dubroom.

This believe is reflected in the fact that most subscribers to Dubroom feeds or lists are subscribed to our main list, where basically everything is presented: from music to meditations and reports et cetera.

Dubroom Online, Edition September 2 2009

"THIS IS THE DUBROOM (1)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 2 2009 - The Dubroom promotes (DUB) Reggae and Consciousness, on an equal basis.

Of course, this means that not all visitors/readers of the Dubroom may be interested in everything with the same amount of interest.

Still, statistics show that a significant part of those that have subscribed themselves to one or more of ours lists/feeds, are interested in the overall content of the Dubroom.

This fact may surprise one person, where the other will see the logic behind it. For, even though one can and should criticize the statement, it is somehow true that (DUB) Reggae and Consciousness are connected with each other.

"QUITE A CLEAN-UP" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, September 1 2009 - It was a very intense job, but a few days ago I was finally ready with cleaning up the Dubroom MP3 Portal.

No less that 111 pages were moved into the MP3 Museum, where they rest in their retirement.

Quite a clean-up!

It doesn't mean that the Portal is empty now, though...

As we continue with our daily series of Dubroom Online MP3 reviews, the MP3 Portal obviously grows along. New pages will be added, many will be updated, as the flood of music just keeps on coming.

Take a look at the MP3's scheduled for this month, and hopefully you find more than just a few tunes you would really like to download.
