"2010, LOOKING FORWARD (5)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 27 2009 - When I look back, I give thanks to Jah. When I look forward, I lay it out before Him and I know that it's not me who runs anything if Jah does not let me do it.

Even stronger, if I do not get the strength to do what I do, I can't do a thing and all my strength comes from Jah.

I cannot even breathe air without Him!

And so, even though I do have a lot of (mainly musical) plans, I know that this will only come to pass when Jah is Willing to bless it and give me the energy to do so.

Because of the very intense situations I had to deal with in 2009, I do know that -next to working on maintenance and creating riddims- I need to rest for more than a little while as well.

Which I am hoping to do at the moment you are reading this.

One Love, Give Thanks,
Messian Dread (Dubroom Webmaster)

"2010, LOOKING FORWARD (4)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 26 2009 - Next to my own musical projects, I also hope that the year 2010 will produce the first releases from the new Dubroom studio.

New?

Ah, well, not really.

A couple of years we started to set up a studio where it would be possible to record actual musical play by musicians but things happened and that plan had to be put in the freezer.

Currently defrosting, if you will, Jah Willing we will find the time and energy to not only set up this studio so that the studio band can play, but also will actually play, record, mix and release!

More Tomorrow...

"2010, LOOKING FORWARD (3)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 25 2009 - Next to the video's, I also hope to release a lot of new Messian Dread musical works in 2010.

In fact, I already started.

At the moment I'm typing this, I'm already creating riddims for what I hope will be another project resulting in net albums and EP's.

I've got a much better studio sound right now, and I plan to finally use a lot of sampled material and other recordings which I haven't used until, Jah Willing, the next year.

I did a similar project a couple of years ago. It resulted in the production of two Net Albums, one commercial CD and a whole flood of EP's.

"2010, LOOKING FORWARD (2)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 24 2009 - As all the columns have been pre-written, there is a big chance that I'm currently working hard on maintenance of the website.

It's not just that not all reviewed material on mp3.dubroom.org is properly presented and thus has to be integrated in the portal.

The video reviews, for example, are a huge mess. I really hope to clean up the section as thorough as the MP3 portal is cleaned and currently re-build with much better material.

This is getting hindered, though, because of the fact that I maintain this website with a computer that still runs on Windows '98 and for video reviews I have to use another computer which is not at the place I'm in right now.

"2010, LOOKING FORWARD (1)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 23 2009 - After evaluating the last year, it's time to look forward. Yes, the Dubroom and my life are in the Hands of the Father, and so all my plans are no more than that, my plans...

It could very well be that Jah again has many other things for me in store than the things I work for at this moment, but whatever it is that He does, it is a zillion times better, and infinitely more than that even.

There's nothing wrong with working on things and projects, nothing wrong with laying out your plans before Jah.

But there is something wrong when these plans are to be seen as "Gospel Truth".

"EVALUATING 2009 (21)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 22 2009 - All in all, 2009 was a good year for the Dubroom and for me, both as Dubroom Webmaster and as a private person.

I was able to do a lot of work on the website, even though I really needed about 3 or 4 times as much time in order to get everything right.

As I know that my life is not in my hands, but in the Hands of the Father, I look back at one year in which I can really say that I see this big time.

Sure, I have plans for the Dubroom which I hope to talk about in the next few days, but if there is one thing I have to say about it, it's this: everything is "Jah Willing", which is not a cliché for me.

HOW BUJU WAS TRAPPED

WWW, December 2009 - The news that Buju Banton was arrested on some crazy cocaine charges has shocked the Dancehall and Reggae community world wide, and even beyond that. In a released document which the Babylon Observer was given by the DANCEHALL.mobi website, the police claim just how everything was done.

Read and be amazed by what is obviously a set-up.

Just the other day, the Babylon Observer reported on the arrest of Buju Banton and reported about it. It didn't take too long before a comment was placed on the Dubroom weblog from a "gay rights activist" who basically defended the arrest because of Buju's remarks about homosexuality and a tune he did when he was a teenager. The comment ended with the words:

*If* buju is convicted, it will turn out that the gays were right all along...HE is buju. (LINK)

Even though it would give these "gay rights activists" too much credit for being responsible of Buju's arrest, it is obvious that they are useful idiots, used by the very same powers that trapped Buju Banton.

Just before all of this happened, Buju had been once again the target of the "gay rights activists" who did their best to threaten venues hosting Buju's US promotional tour for his "Rasta Got Soul" album. After having met with certain representants of these "activists", people were pepper-sprayed on Buju's concerts. He tells all about it in "The Cutting Edge", a radio program from Mutabaruka (MP3).

So much for the "gay rights activists".

Fortunately, another comment on the very same article on the Dubroom Weblog provided more information about the powers that trapped Buju. The webmaster of the www.dancehall.mobi website placed a link to a police document in which these police people claim to tell the story about the involvement of Buju Banton in a "conspiracy to posses with intention to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine".

The document, which is reprinted on the Dubroom in JPG and PDF formats and in this article, reads like a conspiracy allright, but even though Buju Banton himself is mentioned only one time and it's clear that even in the very unlikely case that things happened the way they are described in the document, Buju Banton himself was more the victim of people around him. People who can be assumed were all police officials or the ones they wanted in jail because of the usual Babylonian reasons.

In the meantime, Buju Banton himself is said to maintain his sanity as he is locked up in a US prison, trying to help his fellow Jamaicans who often do not even have a lawyer to represent them. His label communicates to the people of the world that Buju denies the charges with all of his strength and is confident of his victory.

Read on to find out what's written in the (signed) police document.

"EVALUATING 2009 (20)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 21 2009 - Next to the video reviews, our research projects were also neglected, especially in the last part of this year.

Again, a lack of time was the main reason. A lack of time which I needed for other things, long-time projects and a lot of developments in my private life.

Things are getting settled up, though. I'm taking a good rest in order to spend my days in a fruitful way, Jah Willing somewhere in the beginning of 2010.

So much things to do, so much things to say, too...
