Not only are all new reviews, releases and research re-posted on the boards so that in-depth discussions can (and do) take place, sometimes there is also news posted on the boards that will subsequently find their way to the website and beyond.

Just recently, for example, one of the contributors to the Dubroom Message Boards posted a news article about the Lakota nation in North America, who declared independence from USA, long before any mainstream media would pick it up.

WWW, December 2007 - It only takes our host a few seconds to introduce himself and the 15th episode of the House of Reggae. What follows is another hour of crucial niceness presented in an Irie atmosphere.

The show opens and ends with a tune by vocalist Ken Boothe, of who we know a lot after listening to House Of Reggae part 15.

Of course, because in the mean time we have seen how Ian's House Of Reggae does much more than just taking the music to our ears: we are provided with back-ground information for which research was done especially for the show itself.

His original concept of Reggae Info-tainment has provided our host with something as well, because the House Of Reggae has a well deserved place on the top of Reggae Podcasts.

In this episode, Brother Ian tells us -among many other things- all about the rising of the Discomix.

It was the time wherein "Disco Music" was hot and extended mixes were released on 12" vinyl, creating a whole new genre of releases in the Reggae market as well. We're treated to several great examples of the extended mix with fatter bass than on LP or 7".

Another great episode of a Podcast series that has proven it's right to existence and actually adds something to the enormous wealth of material out there.

WWW, December 27 2007 - Not only did the Dubroom significantly expand in the are of musical reviews and releases, the spiritual side of everything was intense as well.

You's truly started what was later called "A Spiritual Journey Called Psalm 91". A rather enigmatic title for a process wherein I discovered my own spiritual identity to a deeper level and also started to write more openly about the supernatural experiences that I sometimes face.

Against fierce opposition, but with the help of stronger Idren and most of all: in the power of the Most High, I discovered the very mechanisms in which mystery Babylon keeps her followers "initiated", or to put it more accurate: in con-fusion.

WWW, December 2007 - Say "Far East Sound", say "Augustus Pablo". Of course! But as Mick Sleeper shows in yet another one of his great Podcasts, there's just a little more behind it, too.

Chop Stick meets Drum Stick!

Ever since the colonizers killed off the original inhabitants, people have been "migrating" to Jamaica. Needless to say, that Jamaica's history has determined the (Musical) Culture of the Island.

The Movement Of Rastafari, for example, could not have come into existence if it were not for the fact that many Jamaicans are direct descendants of Africans who were taken to the "New World" to works as slaves.

But Jamaica has more. Many Jamaicans are descendants from Chinese people, or others from the Far East. Producers such as Clive Chin, for example. Or Earl "Chinna" Smith...

Obviously, all of this had an influence on Reggae Music as well. Just like there is an African Sound, there is a... Far East Sound too.

So, no, it's not just Augustus Pablo even though he is widely considered to be the figurehead of the sound. With his melodica, he told many musical stories without words and definitely created what everyone would recognize as a Far East Sound.

Sleeper's 12th Podcast perfectly portrays this Far East Sound, showing how next to the -obligatory- Augustus Pablo works there is much more to be discovered.

"EVALUATING 2007 (5)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 26 2007 - In 2007, the Dubroom studio was significantly expanded with the coming of a digital drum kit.

This gave rise to the possibility of actually recording a full band in the same independence that gave birth to the Dubroom website.

Thus far, the Dubroom studio facilitated the mixing of DUB music and recording vocals, but a full blown band could not be recorded.

But now the Studio is in a process of becoming full-blown. All of this takes a lot of time, which will be taken in the year 2008.

WWW, December 2007 - What do you do when your local Record Shop sells all it's vinyl for just 50 Dollar cents each, including a massive collection of Joe Gibbs 12" and LP's?

Right...

Before you sell them all on E-bay and make quite some money with it, you make sure you have the stuff on your Hard Disk and create a crucial Podcast so that each and everyone can share in the rejoicement.

Joe Gibbs, of course, is a well-known Reggae Producer whose large catalogue of releases include every name in the business and beyond. His "African DUB" series belong to the essentials and his 12" releases are well sought-after by avid collectors of Jamaican Music who are prepared to pay a lot of money of sites like E-bay for just a vinyl release.

But never mind the games that the collectors play among themselves.

Let's just enjoy the music, for it really is about the music and no money can buy or sell what music can give. Let's enjoy the seven tunes Sleeper selected for us, because each and every one fits in the "all-killer-no-filler" category.

The seven selections in Sleeper's 11th episode of great Podcasts all come in the same format: First we have the singers singing, then the mix goes over in DUB style and the MC takes the mike in his hand.
