REGGAE TUNES I MISS WHEN I'M AWAY

REGGAE TUNES I MISS WHEN I'M AWAY
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - There's no specific reason for any of the selections in this one-hour Podcast, other than that they are Reggae and our host missed those tunes while he was out of town.

Why didn't he record them before going out? We can't tell you. But we're glad he didn't!

Peter Tosh called it Reggaemylitus. We all suffer from it. You, I, and our host.

From Rocksteady to Rub a Dub and everything in between, this selection has it. As long as it is Jamaican, and not produced before let's say 1982, there is some representant of the different vibes in it.

We really go from one style into the next, without warning. One vibe after the other. This is the kind of Podcast you put on when you really don't know (anymore) what to play, other than the fact it must be Reggae cause you just can't miss the music.

Check it!

TWO SERVER ISSUES

TWO SERVER ISSUES
FROM THE DUBROOM WEBMASTER

WWW, October 23 2008 - The Dubroom Webmaster would like to ask your attention concerning two issues with the Dubroom server, as Yahoo puts their mark where they shouldn't do it and fail to update material that should be updated!

Greetings!

Yesterday I woke up and saw a Yahoo "Favicon" on the Dubroom website. A "Favicon" is a little graphic file that is displayed in your browser's address field on top.

I was not amused, as I had to find out what a favicon was and tried to get the Yahoo thing of my website by making my own. That didn't happen.

I was now pissed off, I can tell you. Even though I can imagine that they kind of make a favicon and then give us the opportunity to change it into our own, even though that in itself would have been an unethical thing. After all, it is like you rent a house but then the guy who rent it to you puts his own mark on there without you even asking it.

I asked a comment from Yahoo and didn't get it. So I made a remark on the Dubroom Front Page and it is going to stay on there until they change it.

Yes, I'm pissed.

I have another reason to be pissed.

As you may or may not know, the Dubroom has an MP3 spotlight. This is an extra attention given to an artist or podcast. To draw attention, I have a graphic file called spotlight.jpg linking to a page spotlight.htm and I simply update the picture and the page, while keeping the same filename.

Today, October 23, I changed the MP3 spotlight. The pages change as I wanted, but not the picture. I even deleted the picture from the website, re-uploaded it, but the old one stays there. No, it's no issue at my computer cause I use several.

Again I wrote to Yahoo customer "service". But the fact that I subsequently wrote this little update which I plan to post on the Dubroom front-page tomorrow indicates my expectations.

I am pissed at Yahoo for doing these things. I find them unacceptable and when they continue to do this, I will definitely change providers.

I'll keep you posted.

MYSTERY BABYLON (152)

Dubroom Online - October 23, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (152)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, October 23 2008 - Aleister Crowley's law prevents many from actually Stepping Out Of Babylon. It's a law of slavery, after all, and we can see a perfect example of that when we look to the Hippie generation of the 1960's.

They "turned out", that is, they used all kinds of drugs and went living somewhere in nature as some ultimate form of "stepping out" of what they did not call but in reality was Babylon.

Many of them have, throughout the decades, turned into the very same establishment, workers for Babylon.

Many of them were conscious followers of Crowley's law, and since they have been programmed to take their own feelings as the highest standard by which to judge reality, they had to come to the conclusion that it was better to... konform.

Which is exactly what Crowley intended all along!

DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - To burn some Lamb's Bread, some take a Rizzla. To burn some Fire Pon Babylon, some would definitely take a Sizzla. And since the doctor prescribes the medicine, he selected some Fire Favorites in which the versatility of Sizzla's vocal talents really come to it's value.

Brooklyn based DJ Dr. Tahl presents well over an hour of stricktly Sizzla, but not just in the chanting style that most of us know the Jamaican dancehall vocalist.

Sizzla is known for his "Fire Tunes", in which he chants down many sides of Babylon. From his cultural center Judgement Yard, he releases one flame after the other. Musically, he will voice hard core dancehall riddims in one time, the other occasion he will use rootsy one drop drums or militant steppers.

The total picture of Sizzla's works until now are pretty well covered in "Fire Favorites", a perfect title for not just a Podcast, but also for the wonderful accompanying notes DJ Dr. Tahl wrote.

MYSTERY BABYLON (151)

Dubroom Online - October 22, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (151)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, October 22 2008 - "As long as it feels good, do it!", or : "we all have our own truth"...

Of course, until a certain degree this is true. To me, it feels good to play Dub music and it is also true that I have a Dutch passport. There's nothing wrong with playing Dub Music, and the fact I have a Dutch passport doesn't mean everyone has such a thing.

However, Aleister Crowley and his spirit teacher made it to a "law". A law which is obeyed by just too many without them even knowing that are factually obeying a law.

Don't underestimate this man who died in 1947. He called himself "the Beast 666" and even tried to make a body for the Antichrist, which he called the Babylon Works.

His law is obeyed by many, and it is this law which prevents just too many people from actually stepping out of Babylon.

DOWNLOAD: JOURNEY RIDDIM

Starting with strings, slowly the Journey Riddim builds up, while Jah Cure voices the introduction perfectly. The drum and bass subsequently drop in and out in what is really an original, surprising riddim.

A One Drop drums is accompanied by some creative keyboard hits, the singer mixed perfectly with effects and background vocals.

NEW AGE RAGE (3): PETER JOSEPH

NEW AGE RAGE (3): PETER JOSEPH
BABYLON OBSERVER RADIO REVIEW

WWW, October 2008 - What happens when talk show host Alex Jones wakes up to the fact that the video Zeitgeist is a piece of New Age Propaganda? He invites the maker of the video for an interview.

In February of this year, the Babylon Observer published a review on the movie "Zeitgeist". It was subtitled: "An Excursion Into Stupidity". The video was all about how Jesus Christ was a myth invented by people who are now basically controlling the world. It mixed truth with New Age propaganda of such "teachers" as Jordan Maxwell.

Much of that propaganda was so blatantly wrong, that the maker of the video, a guy who calls himself Peter Joseph and who says he works in the television industry, had to release a second edition with some of the errors corrected.

Recently, Peter Joseph released another movie, with more of the traditional New Age Nazi rhetoric. The New Age "Plan" is so blatantly proposed in the video, that even Alex Jones of the Infowars radio show woke up to the fact that "Zeitgeist" has nothing to do with exposing Babywrong, and everything with bringing forth the very same New World Order that the movie claims to oppose!

Alex Jones decided to bring Peter Joseph on his show for a "discussion". This discussion turned out to be an enormous spectacle as the Texas based host confronts an unbelievably arrogant Peter Joseph, whose whole appearance matches perfectly with his extreme elitist philosophy.

As he unfolds his plan for his New Age Utopia, the moviemaker speaks about how people have to be "re-conditioned" in order to live in his preferred "society". A society which -not surprisingly- looks remarkably similar to Hitler's Third Reich and Communist countries such as the former Soviet Union and China.

There's one thing which holds him from establishing his Utopia, though. Peter Joseph gets the most passionate when he speaks about it, and he calls it "religion". Actually, to be more specific, "Christianity". From the Vatikan, the city with the seven hills, to the individual worship of Jesus Christ by countless of people worldwide: Peter Joseph knows just where the trouble is!

After all, in the eyes of the Zeitgeist creator, there is no such thing as "evil". That would only be a concept created by "religion", and it would disable people from moving into his Utopia.

Alex Jones, known for his rants and confrontive way of interviewing, counters Peter Joseph. Jones' views, namely, more than oppose that of the creator of Zeitgeist. After all, in the eyes of Alex Jones, there is definitely such a thing as "evil".

The result is about two hours of chilling audio, wherein once again the fascistic nature of the New Age philosophy and mentality is exposed.

Join the Babylon Observer with a good chuckle, several smiles, and hope with him that Alex Jones might wake up to the fact that there is way too much New Age propaganda in what is called the "Truth Movement".

Listen to the interview, and then listen to Alex Jones' evaluation he did the other day as he also interviewed a couple of more people concerning "Zeitgeist".
