ROOTS MINISTRY: MIXDOWN #5

ROOTS MINISTRY: MIXDOWN #5
DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, January 2008 - Stricktly Conscious lyrics in the 5th Podcast or Mixdown of the Germany based Roots Ministry Sound System. 50 minutes of Words and Teachings from the Good Lord God JAH on crucial drum and basslines!

One Roots Ministry Mixdown is not like the other, but they all have this uplifting vibe that goes higher than the love for any music can ever take us. It's called consciousness, and has to do with being aware of what's going on and praising the Creator JAH.

This love for JAH, for the Source of Life, is the inspiration and even motivation for all tunes played in the fifth episode of the Roots Ministry series of Podcasts called "Mixdown". The fifty minutes will definitely serve as food for the soul and spirit of JAH Children once again.

The majority of tunes in the Mixdown are in the UK DUB and ROOTS Tradition. Tradition rather than location: just listen to Lyrical Benjie and the excellent DUBCREATOR DUB and realize that this is an Amsterdam based production rather than a work done in the UK.

Put on the volume, turn on the subwoofer, and get ready for a deep and intense journey into Reggae and Consciousness. If this don't get you out of bed, you got to be...

MYSTERY BABYLON (26)

Dubroom Online - Edition January 31, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (26)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, January 31 2008 - An objective look to ancient history will reveal, how ancient men were not as primitive as mainstream science would want us to believe.

They were definitely not so primitive to obey a king or ruler and give power to the priests. They would not believe that the kings and priests had contact with the gods, if they would not have a good reason to do so.

According to many ancient books including the Bible, the interaction between the rulers in the physical and those in the supernatural realms was quite visible for common man in ancient times.

In fact, it seems like only these last few centuries know a situation wherein this interaction is not publicly on display.

DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, January 2008 - German based ROOTS MINISTRY comes again with another great selection of serious Roots Reggae, skillfully mixed in one hour of pure niceness, Showcase Style!

Mixdown #4 is a no-nonsense, non-stop mix of mainly serious and militant Jamaican Roots Rockers from the 1970's. Almost every tune comes with crucial DUB and/or DJ version, too.

Selected by Roots Minister Papa Jason, the show is definitely not your average "Reggae Retro Show" as it contains a lot of rare, forgotten or even ignored material.

Steppers galore, too! The massive "Rasta Business" by the Mighty Three, for example: here is a tune by a group that should have had much more exposure. Or Freddy Mc Gregor's "Chant Down Babylon", coming with special DJ version: Freddy Mc Gregor as not everyone may know him...

There is not one dull moment throughout the entire hour of the show. In fact, it's a highly energizing mix filled with food for the soul and spirit too.

Nuff Raspect for this German based Sound System for ministering to the online (DUB) Reggae community with another gem of Roots and Culture.

MYSTERY BABYLON (25)

Dubroom Online - Edition January 30, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (25)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, January 30 2008 - We often hear about "primitive man" who was so stupid to worship the sun and the moon and the stars et cetera, which charlatan priests making advantage of this "primitive belief" would then use to make themselves a good life.

In reality, "primitive man" was not so primitive at all. Ancient buildings like the Great Pyramid in Egypt expose techniques and knowledge that is far beyond what contemporary science claims to know.

Much can, must, and is said about these ancient buildings.

For now, let's just see them as evidence of the fact that yes indeed, in ancient times there were supernatural things going on. Things that made people turn to the initiated, the clergy, for protection against the supernatural forces or powers.

DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, January 2008 - The final episode of the Algoriddim triplet on Linvall Thompson centers around the man's work as a producer. One hour and Fifty minutes of pure Reggae Niceness!

There you go: 70 different titles, of which the majority are excellent DUB versions mixed by King Tubby, the Scientist and Prince Jammy. Interesting vocal works too, as we can listen to Barry Brown and many others in this superb Radio Show completely livicated to the skills and works of Linvall Thompson.

After the introductional words and sounds, we'll go straight into the power and that power is perfectly presented in the non-stop skillful mix by the Algoriddim Broadcast's very own DJ Benja. He will bring us from one tune into the next without us even really noticing it: the mark of a professional fe true.

More than parts 1 and 2, the final episode on the Algoriddim's triplet on Linvall Thompson focuses on the man's work as a producer. The many excellent DUB versions form only a part of that work, and so we hear -next to a healthy doses of DUB- some great vocalists as well, both DJ's and singers.

You simply cannot afford not to download the complete triplet, and since there is no reason why you shouldn't do so while the podcast is still available online, there's no excuse either!

MYSTERY BABYLON (24)

Dubroom Online - Edition January 29, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (24)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, January 29 2008 - In spite of what mainstream science usually claims, it is highly debatable as to whether there was something called "primitive man" in ancient times.

There are no considerable signs of a gradual evolution of "civilization", but rather a rather revolutionary implementation of it.

One look at the ancient monuments such as the Great Pyramid reveals such an enormous architectural development, that it has become a true joke to talk about "primitive men".

Ancient civilizations themselves all claim, without exception, to have been installed by "survivors of earlier civilizations". And they have the monuments to proof their case!

Dubroom Online - Edition January 28, 2008

"MYSTERY BABYLON (23)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, January 28 2008 - Right from the start, Babylon System has expanded and maintained herself by a technology we call "Problem-> Reaction -> Solution".

You create a Problem, causing people to React by demanding a Solution, which you will then offer to them.

Before Nimrod, the founder of Babylon, went to places that he did not have under control, he sent his terrorist gangs in to create major problems for the people. These people would then turn to Nimrod for "protection", which he would gladfully give...

In the field of religion, Babylon System uses the very same technique to keep the people in spiritual slavery.

DUBROOM MP3 REVIEW

WWW, January 2008 - In three episodes, Chicago-based Reggae Radio program Algoriddim introduces us to the life and works of Reggae Vocalist and Producer Linvall Thompson.

Linvall Thompson is a remarkable figure in the history of Reggae Music. He is a talented and skillful singer as well as producer with an enormous catalogue of works that somehow involves his name as his resume.

Born in Jamaica, he left for the USA in 1971 to be with his parents. The going was rough, especially for Reggae Music in the USA. In New York, Linvall teamed up with Horace Andy and started an band-with-no-name, only to return to Jamaica where he would work as a vocalist and producer with just about everyone in the business: Lee Perry, King Tubby, the list goes on and on.

Algoriddim Radio livicated three episodes to the enormous amount of work that somehow had Linvall Thompson involved. This is the first part, mostly diving into Thompson's work with and for producer Bunny Lee in the 1970's.

The show takes us through 50 different titles in just over an hour, all skillfully mixed into one non-stop mix by our host who knows his riddims as well. As we move from one tune into the next, we are being treated with the skills of King Tubby, Tappa Zukie and many others.

And this is just part one-of-three!
