"EVALUATING 2008 (16)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 26 2008 - Heartical's début album wasn't the only Dubroom Star Selections release of this year. We also released a Net Album by JAH Billah, who dubbed a number of riddims by an outernational group of online artists.

That is, next to a number of productions from the Dubroom Studio, mainly with riddims created by yours' truly.

I hope, you also like the brand new DUB tune called "DUB In The Belly Of The Beast". I feel that we are in a Revelation Time, where the word "change" which we heard so much these last months turns out to be an understatement.

It's a time, wherein we need to consider more and more that Mystery Babylon should not be a mystery for those that call themselves Truth Seekers...

WWW, December 2008 - This short movie gives sights and sounds to a conflict and dilemma that is not really there, either...

Is dreadlocks a hairstyle, is it just for a specific race or religion? Is Dread Rasta, is Rasta Dread?

In this 21st century, it seems like "everyone" wears dreadlocks. From Rastafari elders in Jamaica, to reports of even neo-nazi's wearing their hair uncombed. A thing which has the interest of just about everyone even remotely interested in Rastafari and Reggae Culture, that's for sure.

Just who are the dreads in this time, anyway? This short movie takes us to the UK, where we'll find a group of white kids being interviewed as they sit on a barber chair. Not much spirituality, not much Rastafari, not much of anything but cosmetic reasons drove them to stop combing their hair or even going to the barber to get "dreadlocks".

Surely, this is kind of offensive to those who know themselves to be dreadlocks based on spiritual reasons, Rastafari reasons. We see them too, in the video. Some will admit they started to grow dreadlocks because of cosmetic reasons, others will talk about the difference between being a Dread and being a Rasta.

As a militant Mad Professor Dub plays in the back ground and we move towards the end of the ten minutes, the frustration has become clear. In the very last minute, we see the ultimate answer to this phenomena where dreadlocks have become the fashion of people who have nothing to do with any form of spirituality whatsoever...

"EVALUATING 2008 (15)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 25 2008 - Today we complete the presentation of Heartical's debut Net Album.

He is also actively involved in the Dubroom Studio, and we do expect that next year we'll start releasing tunes created in the brand new Studio that we're setting up.

Currently, there are many artists and groups who use the name JAH Roots, but there is only one JAH Roots who were called like that back in the 1980's, and that is the House Band of the Dubroom.

This band started in 1987, and continues to exist today as a collective of musicians. When the new Dubroom studio is finished, which hopefully will be in 2009, we will start releasing their music.

"EVALUATING 2008 (14)" (WEBMASTER'S COLUMN)

WWW, December 24 2008 - The Dubroom will continue to promote (DUB) Reggae and Consciousness for as long as this is possible.

With politicians speaking about their New World Order and mass mind-kontrol openly out there, Reggae Music is that force of liberation that will break the Matrix of those that are enslaved.

Ultimately, that is what Reggae is all about. When that heart is taken out of Reggae, you have nothing left but another form of music.

As Babylon rears her ugly face more and more, Reggae Music will also become more and more that Freedom Sounds that the Music really is.
