Dubroom Online - Edition September 19, 2007

WWW, September 19 2007 - Musically, the concepts in Reggae are quite different than what is usual in western popular music. For example, you don't really speak about "songs", but rather about riddims.

Mick Sleeper's second episode of his magnificent Podcast series deals with another aspect of Reggae Music: Chapter and Version. When you (don't) know what that's all about, you want to get the Podcast.

Producers play a significant role in Reggae Culture, too. The name Henry 'Junjo' Lawes, for example. He is said to be the founder of early Dancehall or Rub a Dub music. Check out his material and skank heavy!

Give Thanks, One Love,
Messian Dread (Dubroom Webmaster)
