Dubroom Online - Edition September 19, 2007

WWW, September 19 2007 - Musically, the concepts in Reggae are quite different than what is usual in western popular music. For example, you don't really speak about "songs", but rather about riddims.

Mick Sleeper's second episode of his magnificent Podcast series deals with another aspect of Reggae Music: Chapter and Version. When you (don't) know what that's all about, you want to get the Podcast.

Producers play a significant role in Reggae Culture, too. The name Henry 'Junjo' Lawes, for example. He is said to be the founder of early Dancehall or Rub a Dub music. Check out his material and skank heavy!

CHAPTER AND VERSION
SLEEPER'S RECORD SHACK #2

WWW, September 2007 - In the Bible we will find Chapter and Verse, in Reggae Music we'll find Chapters with Versions: vocal tunes with their Dub versions.
Mick Sleeper in a Showcase stylee!

In Reggae Music, we speak about "riddims" rather than "songs". A riddim usually is a bass-line, combined with a theme usually played by horns. Such riddims are re-done throughout the decades by various generations of Studio Bands.

Reggae is very much a Studio Music, even though in the world wide Reggae Culture there are many bands with their own repertoire, a'la Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Tracks are usually recorded in the studio's as instrumentals. Later, vocalists and Dub engineers do things with these riddims and release them under a wide variety of names. Some collectors even make it a real quest to find just about every release of a specific riddim or even a specific recording of a riddim.

Most Reggae 7" vinyl singles come with a vocal mix on the A side, and a "version" or Dub on the other side. People would speak about "chapters" with their "versions".

Later, the 12" would enter the record plants and a chapter and version would be presented in one long non-stop mix. These chapter and version mixes would be collected and released on so called "Showcase" albums.

In the second episode of his excellent podcast, Mick Sleeper shows this principal as he plays a selection of excellent 1970's Rockers Reggae in "Showcase Style".

Ire!

HENRY 'JUNJO' LAWES: RUB A DUB STYLE!
RUB A DUB PODCAST #2

WWW, September 2007 - Six out of the ten tracks in this great 30 minutes non-stop mix contain the vocal works of Yellowman. Still, the podcast isn't credited to this legendary Reggae Toaster who made his name during the 1980's Rub a Dub era.

what's up with that?

Reggae historians will tell you, that Henry 'Junjo' Lawes was the predominant producer of Jamaican Rub a Dub Reggae in the early 1980's. His name is on just too many albums and single releases to mention, and some even credit him with the founding of this early form of Dancehall back in 1979.

Junjo launched singers like Barrington Levy, made extensive use of top notch Dub engineer the Scientist, whose legendary series on the Greensleeves label is considered among the top of the all-time Dub releases.

In this Podcast, the focus is mainly on one of that other legend of Rub a Dub style: Yellowman. All tracks are Junjo productions, though. Showing how the producer worked with Harmony Groups (Wailing Souls), DJ's (Michigan & Smiley) and Singers (Barrington Levy).

New Age Rage (A Babylon Observer Observation)

NEW AGE RAGE
A BABYLON OBSERVER OBSERVATION

WWW, September 2007 - Tolerance, peace, love, unity and positivity. Titles of doctrines within the New age movement. What happens when you break the rules?

Where sects like the so-called "Jehovah Witnesses" predicted the end of the world on a number of occasions, so do the New Agers and the year is 2012. Most with the Movement work towards the establishment of their fascistic New World Order in that year, in which it is said that the "Age of Aquarius" will finally arrive...

We'll see what happens then, as the year is 2007 at the moment this is written. However, it is extremely interesting and sometimes even entertaining to see the principals of the New Age Movement at work as we approach that year.

Whitley Strieber is the host of a broadcast called "Dreamland". He is a well-known author within the New Age Movement and is in direct contact with spirits, or as some would say, "extra terrestrials". He's not your typical New Ager, though.

And this became clear during one of his recent episodes of "Dreamland", in which he interviewed what seemed to be a real New Age Fascist: a man called Daniel Pinchback. Pinchback speaks enthusiastically about the New World Order, and at a certain moment he starts to rebuke the host.

In the New Age Movement, there is what you could call a "doctrine of positivism". You must not speak what is experienced as "negative", and in the same time, you can always accuse your New Age brother of "negativity".

What happens, when you break the rules? How "positive" is "positive" in the New Age Movement? In a nutshell, you can see the fascism at work at a micro-level in Whitley's Strieber's interview with Daniel Pinchback.

Pinchback accuses Strieber of "negativity" because Strieber basically says that there's gonna be a lot of suffering before the New Age can be established according to the prophecies of the New Age movement.

No, it's not that the two New Age Brethren disagree about the upcoming return of Atlantis. It's not, that they think everything is really that positive as they try to prepare themselves and their audiences for the magical 2012.

It's just, that Pinchback is much more legalistic in his total obedience to the "doctrine of positivism". And when he is confronted with too much reality, he activates the defense mechanisms which come with the doctrine.

In his turn, Strieber shows his attachment to the beings that he is in contact with as during the interview he breaks "friendship" with Pinchback. Pinchback, namely, claims that these beings are "negative".

New Age Rage is usually very ugly, but sometimes it can be quite entertaining. This particular episode of Dreamland definitely is worth a listen and worth a smile.

Yes, it is all true that the New Agers are just another branch of Babylon Shitstem that works so hard to establish an environment of evil to dwell in. It's described in the second Psalm of the Good Book, and the response of Jah the Almighty is to laugh hard.

They will fail, as this discussion between two New Age Brethren shows.

Enjoy!

SOLID SELECTIONS
SLEEPER'S RECORD SHACK #1

WWW, September 2007 - The first episode of Sleeper's Record Shack starts of with a special jingle by none other than Mikey Dread, introducing the man called Mick Sleeper.

With such an introduction, Mick Sleeper obviously captures the attention of everyone who is even remotely familiar with Reggae Music.

But he didn't need to introduce himself to everyone, though...

Being a veteran of the online (DUB) Reggae scene, Sleeper isn't an unknown figure for those who've been around in Reggae Cyberspace.

It doesn't matter. Everyone who listens to this musical introduction will give thanks that this huge lover of Reggae Music decided to spread some positive vibes through the Podosphere...

The vibes start off with fourteen of what our host calls "solid selections". Solid Roots, interesting material like a Robert Palmer tune recorded in Jamaica, Rub a Dub stylee is there too.

Highlights galore: Dr. Alimantado's "Conscious Man", a heartical encouragement for those that need it. Horace Andy's "Man Next Door" is another one.

Video: 60 Minutes Of 1984 Jamaican Dancehall

60 MINUTES OF 1984 JAMAICAN DANCEHALL
Dubroom (DUB) Reggae Video Review

In the year of George Orwell's famous book on the Police State, Jamaica was completely captured by Rub a Dub or early Dance Hall Music.

Channel One Studio's was creating hit after hit with the Roots Radics as their Studio Band, while DJ's and Singers chanted over the drum and basslines of what was then a brand new thing.

It was the time in which digital technologies entered the (Jamaican) Studio's big time. Jammy's produced the now famed sleng Teng Riddim that set the tone for yet another thing: Ragga, or simply Dancehall.

This is where, and when, the video captures the sights and sounds in the Dance during a very exciting time in Jamaica, both musically and politically.

Uncensored, that is. So if you can't stand the sights of marihuana or a reasonable amount of sensual dancing, in other words if you can't stand to be in a Reggae Dancehall anyway, read on what you're going to miss out on.

In one hour, a whole host of vocalists enter stage: singers and DJ's. Tippa Lee, Nicodemus, Yami Bolo, Philip Frazer: just four names out of many great performers.

Especially Yami Bolo (around 32 minutes into the video) is kind of special as he really is still a pickney when in that time but already a great performer.

Towards the end of the video, certain vocalists express the fact that they have taken just a little bit too much beer, which has it's charm. Just like the few minutes wherein there is no music, but another vocalist just plays around with the echo on his voice...

An uncensored look in what was a Jamaican Dancehall in Orwell's year. 1984, a year wherein certainly nuff things were going on!

Young Mac Gililan Has A Farm... (Babylon Observer Video Review)

YOUNG MAC GILILAN HAS A FARM...
BABYLON OBSERVER VIDEO REVIEW

WWW, September 2007 - As we forward towards the "Days of Noah" or "Age of Aquarius", Babylon is setting the stage for the return of the Nephilim and making a fortune while she's doing it.

Meet James Gilliland, owner of a big ranch somewhere in the USA. He's a farmer, a very very special farmer with a very very special kind of cattle.

He's raising and preparing his cattle for the slaughter. He's actively looking to increase the number of cattle in his flock, and with the help of the bigger company of which Mr. Gilliland is only an employee, he has reached to a level of which you could say: quite remarkable indeed.

Mr. Gilliland is a Soul-Farmer: a keeper of souls. He is here to help his masters prepare the planet for the return of the days of Noah. The days, of which the ancient books of Genesis and Enoch give unbelievable details. Details, confirmed by archaeology and so called "extra-biblical" manuscripts.

The ancient books speak about Lucifer and how his multitudes of merchandize eventually led him to desire the impossible: break the border between the creation and the Creator.

The books tell us how mankind was tempted and keeps being tempted to worship creation rather than worshipping Jah (God). When the Watchers came down to make themselves offspring through women, they did so in exchange for technology.

They also demanded that humans would stop worshipping the Creator, Who is Himself not a Created Being. They would deny His existence to people, by making Him a part of Creation.

Exactly this is what Mr. Gilliland's says his so-called extra-terrestrial "friends" claim too:

They see the Creator within all creation. They do not separate or divide creation from the Creator, for to them the Creator is omnipresent within all creation. (SOURCE)

The books tell us about the Days of Noah, too. The days in which the planet was literally flooded by the unholy offspring of non-human intelligent beings and humans: the Nephilim.

All of this is a big business in Babylon. For Babylon is all about business and trading, just like Lucifer. That's why people like Zechariah Sitchin and others become filthy rich by telling propaganda stories about all of this. And let's not forget our "Christian" friend either, who are busy creating their own little UFO Enterprise within the structures of the Christian Industrial Complex.

Although this business is about money, ultimately it's about the trading of souls. The good book of the Apocalypse reveals to us how souls a merchandise in the hands of Babylon (Revelation 18:12,13)

Let's not forget our American farmer in all of this!

James Gilliland is all about preparing mankind for the massive return of the days of Noah in our time. In this video, you can see how he speaks to an audience that is avidly looking for contact with the Watchers or "extra-terrestrials" as they call them.

We'll see his farm, where he gathers souls and makes them receptive to be replaced by the spirits of the Nephilim who are desperately trying to initiate the "New Age", "Age of Aquarius", "New World Order", or simply... Days of Noah!

The farm is built on a historical location. It's close to the place where a man called Kenneth Arnold saw UFO's and coined the now legendary phrase "flying saucers". Kenneth Arnold wasn't the only one to see UFO's as the sighting reports go back 100's of years. And today, it's not really different as one UFO manifestation after the other is reported on Gilliland's place.

We'll see him talk, addressing the people of the world to join him in his enterprise. And even though his Clean-Cut Hippie looks may deceive you into thinking how he's not to be taken serious, millions of people actually do take him serious and if only for that, the Babylon Observer observes...

He's a frequent guest on the most popular paranormal and UFO related media channels, people hang on his lips as the "extra-terrestrials" manifest themselves in front of camera's and witnesses to "confirm" his propaganda.

Mr. Gilliland claims how his "extra-terrestrial" friends want to "help "humanity" to reach into the next "evolutionary phase", meaning: forget about being the seed of Adam and Eve. He hails the "technology" that the Watchers have to offer, but fails to explain why his friends are unable to save the world as he claims they can.

Something is holding them back, obviously. That something, according to Mr. Gilliland is the so-called "negativity" of those that disagree with his ideas.

Or the ideas he propagates.

See for yourself!
